Constantly I'm ranting about not being an achievement whore but this weekend I played/beat
Clive Barker's Jericho for the third time. I saw I almost had them all completed. So I thought why not just get it?
First, I'd like to point out that I could careless about achievements, I didn't replay
BioShock after my 360 erased my achievement points. Nor when I got
TMNT from Gamefly and the disc had an error, I just stopped at where I couldn't get any further and didn't beat it or get all the points. I never saw the point in them or why everyone needed them.
This weekend, during my third play through, I saw I only had a handful of reasonable achievements (kill 250 with melee and disintegrations which I already had the 100 kills for them) along with one not so reasonable one. Some of these levels are designed to make sure you die and they expect you to beat them without dying! Well I persevered this weekend on my quest to conqueror at least one Xbox 360 game in achievements. And after my adventures what did I get?
A total of 1000 achievement points for one game.
Hmmm, what? I don't know what I was expecting but it seemed so anti-climatic. It's kind of like, "Ok, I did it, now what?" Maybe they could have a game that gives you a reward or at least a special message when you get them all? You know, something to encourage you to get it besides "bragging rights." It was sort of nice in a way and I don't think many can call a claim to fame on such a task (or want to?) but it feels hollow. I doubt I'd find myself doing it again unless it is for a game I absolutely love.
So what was your first 1000 pointer game?
And if you don't feel like discussing it here, hit up the
forum post on it.
I almost got it on Bioshock though; I'm thinking about playing through again.
Also, you need a proofreader, bee-tee-doubleyoo.

@galaga
I got that achievement on accident by flying a helicopter into alderney before I unlocked it and then flying around the city while the police were chasing me.
The closest to 1000 for me is Oblivion.
I have gone through a few other games like Viva Pinata and Ninety Nine Nights. One of those were my first, just can't remember which.
The next one I really want is damn COD 4. I just need the damn Mile High Achievement.
they where so easy and you got a KATANA! why wouldn't i get them all? there really where no time waster achievements in that game. all where enjoyable.
I have quite a few achievements on the "to-do" list, such as the last two for Dynasty Warriors: Gundam, but I just can't bear to play through it another 20 times.
BSD HATES FUN CONFIRMED
Ugh...
I'm close in Bioshock and Viva Pinata, but it'll never happen in either.
Oblivion.
Halo 3 (for the armor,)
Castlevania SotN (for bragging rights)
I'm really close in some other games (Fight Night Round 3, Tomb Raider Legend, amongst a few others) but I really don't care too much about Achievements. If the game is fun enough to warrant multiple play throughs or whatnot, I may end up shooting for some just to have something new to do when I replay it (like Tomb Raider) but otherwise I play a game once and then I have whatever I have.
Second was Halo 3, I was missing the Meta campaign and moongoose modown, I was unmotivated to do the meta campaign due to my lack of moongoose modown, by some miracle I got it in a lone wolves match and I finally beat the damn meta campaign and got my 1000/1000.
I know I 1000/1000 a 3rd game but I don't remember the title.
