This weekend I was doing some browsing at a local BestBuy cause they had a tax free weekend. In the video game section I found both the $20 and $50 PSN point cards. Without hesitation I picked up a $20 point card and went on with my merry way. I checked out other things but that isn't of any relevance to you. So here is my point card...
The metroid wanted to be in the picture too and couldn't keep his claws off of the card.
But this brings me to a realization and a question (maybe more rhetorical though), it was so easy and as I said, "without a hesitation," I bought it. I got the card just like that and whenever I want to get XBLA points it's like inner turmoil and the end of the world battle in my mind of whether I should or not. It was only slightly more easy when there was a discount on points and you could get 1600 for $15. Why is one easier than the other?
No, it isn't just an MS thing. I have trouble spending money on Wii Points as well. What's even wierder is the fact that it is easiest to NOT purchase "points" and purchase items on the PSN then it is with Wii and 360. Just pick what item you want and purchase and everything is done for you. Perhaps it is cause they don't really have a point system and it is just a straight money.
Perhaps the reason is quality of games. Besides a few VC titles and
Mega Man 9 there is nothing on WiiWare that I want to play, although
Secret of Man is tempting. The same goes with XBLA since my last purchase on there was short lived. The PSN is only slightly better because there is
one game that I am still chomping at the bit for and needs it as soon as it comes out.
In the future I probably won't buy a point card because it is so easy to do it online on PSN but the other two, who knows. But of course I will accept them as gifts anytime! Which of the three do you find yourself easily purchasing and not purchasing? Or are you some kind of crazy, freaky person who has no problems with this?
What the hell can I do with 40 MS points?!? Not a damn thing lol. A little frustrating.
I haven't fallen into the trap yet with MS. The second you buy some picture pack for minimal points you'll be left with some point balance that equates to $3.75 that you'll never use.
Needless to say, I'm never buying points cards ever again.
It also won't accept any credit cards....
I believe that the case would be made from best buy that they are selling a card with a code that is $20 instead of a form of currency so there really isn't any legality issues.
