Metroid Metal is here to melt your faces!

A lot of Nintendo games have soundtracks that are memorable. I bet you can still remember a tune for Mega Man 2 and of course Super Mario Bros. This fact alone has inspired many artists to throw down with their music skills and rock out. From The MiniBosses to the Neskimos and The Megas, they bring you video game rock the way you want it. Sure those are the more well known bands but there are plenty other good ones out there. And this one is particularly near and dear to me. Let me present to you...

The band Stemage has created Metroid Metal to bring you the music from Metroid but in a metal form. This entity spans three generations of the game series with Metroid,Super Metroid, and Metroid Prime. The songs are superbly recreated to match that from the game. Of course it has been given its own unique twist here and there to really drive the metal home. The best part is that all the tracks are FREE! You can donate (and I recommend you do) money if you like what you hear.

Are you liking what you hear? If you are like me, you must be stoked. The "band" has also put up shirts and stickers to buy. The shirt is grey and features a logo on the front, along with the name, and a logo on the sleeve. With every shirt purchased, you get a sticker with it. The sticker is the same design as on the sleeve which is sweet in it self. To top it off, it is only $10 ($12 if you get a Baby Doll shirt) for a shirt, $.50 per extra sticker, and only $5 for shipping. Here's a pic of what the shirt looks like.

I personally bought one a few months back and they really are pretty darn sweet!

If you would like to stalk these guys, you can check out their site for the community or go to their MySpace page and "friend" them.

This has been around for awhile, and it's always been awesome. The last time I checked, they were actively adding more tracks from the series, all of which were awesome.

I always thought this blew away most of the other crap that's out there. Very tight, well done stuff.

I'd never heard of this before. Thanks for the cool tip. Hate to admit it, but I've always had a soft spot for that Tool album Lateralus because it reminded me of Metroid. Otherwise, it definitely wouldn't have been my thing.
