It really doesn't. It isn't the worst game ever by any means. But after beating it, I would like to tag onto the title that it is the worst playable game around. It had so much potential but it fell short.
They had lots of great ideas like with the special moves and resistance nectar attacks but after the initial impact, they became more of a gimmick with little to non pay off. What is the point of overdosing the enemies if they are only looking at you. They are just going to shoot you.
One of the coolest features that didn't seem gimmicky was the ammo. How many times have you gotten a weapon you love but they never give you ammo for it? Eventually you have to give it up. Well in
Haze they let you keep on getting ammo for it. This isn't universal ammo but instead if you come up to a weapon, you hold the "O" button and it will change the bullets from one type to another. Sure it isn't realistic but you could get 30 bullets for assault rifle or 1-3 bullets for a sniper rifle. It works out if you really like sniping or a particular gun except for the rocket launcher. Also, knives.
Probably the worst thing I came across was the friendly AI. They got in the way so much and could push you. Yes, the computer friendly could push you out of the way. So there you are sniping someone and then "bump" and you missed a shot. What about when you are trying to protect the "hacker" and he then moves and traps you against the computer only for you to be killed? The sheer fact that they can push/bump/nudge you significantly and you can't do anything back is such a nuisance.
I got so pissed off at one point that I pulled out my assault rifle and unloaded a clip point blank at his head hoping he would die. Why did I do this? So he would be out of the way and wouldn't have to deal with him. The only problem is there is no friendly fire on them? Instead they just turn to look at you and shoot you twice with a shotgun and kill you. Let that sink in. You can't hurt them but they can push you around and kill you. Bully...
Perhaps all the computers would be gone if it was four-player co-op but I was doing two-player and there were computers. Regardless, it is an underwhelming shooter with bland levels and hard to see targets. It had potential but in the end they didn't really try on this game and it is evident. Only play it if you are bored and tired of playing your Cawk of Dooty Floor.
*I used part of my free month of Gamefly to play this game.
Fuck this game.
