A bit ominous title until you think about it. Think about a movie that ruined a book. That's right, I am Legend is getting a prequel staring everyone's "favorite" clean cut "bad boy" Will Smith. It's not a rumor or some talk, it is happening. Seriously.
Why? I suppose now it can't be that bad since their is no other book to destroy. Was the movie that much of a commercial success to warrant another one?
The idea of the plot looks to chronicle the final days before the deadly virus arrives. Does this mean we should expect them to reuse all the flash backs like the bridge scene? But if they do this, I don't see how they could have an end to the movie. Usually there is some sort of conclusion to a film that ties it up unless they are planning to really make it connect to the "original."
This screams hard of DO NOT WANT but I will probably go see it cause like I said, there isn't something to mess up.
Anyways, Will Smith is signed on, Francis Lawrence is back to direct, and DB Weiss does the writing of the script.

Please, stop raping my favorite book. There's nothing worse than just making shit up and saying it's part of the mythos.
The movie was actually okay until the end which they completely FUCKED up. He wasn't supposed to sacrifice himself to save the world! He was the real monster, he dies, no more humans!
I still dont' understand how they can make a prequel
also, fuck I Am Legend, it wasnt even just "different" to the book (which was a much better story), it was a completely seperate storyline and had pretty much nothing in common with that abomination of a movie.
Double also, the vampires looked like they were from The Mummy Returns
GOD WHY THE DOG!
Saddest moment in dog-dying history.
Also, I hope they at least make the "things" look more realistic. They look like shit, in the first movie.
...dammit.
Never go to the movies ever again.
Sorry Cowzilla, I know it's kind of your job. Become a fisherman!
I am Legend was a cool movie and Will Smith did a great and believable job, but the ending did suck donkey balls. Apparently test audiences didn't "get" the real ending where it is revealed that Will Smith is in fact the monster, so they changed it to "and then everyone was happy". *facepalm*
There is nothing to "get." The "real" ending was horrible. And yeah...Will Smith is such a monster even those those creatures are trying to rip him to pieces.
yes
