I am a little confused too.
He-Man and the Masters of Universe has had some rumors flying around. It is said that the main character was not going to be called He-Man. Wha?! Screenwriter Justin Marks chimes in to clears things up relating to that and the fiml.
We're doing something very interesting with that. But... yeah. Obviously you can't make a He-Man movie and be afraid of the word 'He-Man.' You have to get into there. But I think fans will be very pleased when they see how 'He-Man' is spoken.
Does that mean the name will be pronounced differently or did he not mean LITERALLY spoken but figuratively spoken (cue glass shattering sound, kudos to those who get that reference)?
Anyways, more news was dished...Skeletor
IS in the movie as the villain. Huzzah! And Justin also had more to say about other villains as well as the story.
Thus far, at least, there are no invented new characters plopped into it and if we and Mattel have our way there will never be. We're talking about the He-Man mythology. So what we're talking about doing, in the same way as Batman Begins, we're going back to the original thing, let's build it from the ground up again.
How can we find our way in? How can we jump into Adam's life at an interesting point where new audiences will respect him? It's an Adam origin story, and it's a Skeletor origin story. We want to see where both of them come from and how they got that way. If we don't see the humanity and the truth in what Skeletor's trying to do, then the story's not compelling.
And to address another rumor, the movie will
NOT be on Earth. No strip mall or under-age hot topic action in this "sword-and-sandals meets science fiction" Eternian movie!

Have actors been cast?
I agree! I <3love<3 that movie.
Nothing beats Gwildor eating greasy chicken before meeting the past version of Courtney Cox.
Speculation: Since this takes place on another planet, it's unlikely the residents of Eternia speak English. Pig Latin will be used as the chief dialect, and we will cherish the cry of E-hay An-may.
