No this isn't one of this scams online where you sign up for 3029 different groups for 20 months to get something for "free" when you really are dishing out more money on the services ...

BestBuy's weekend flier had a deal on the front page.

Buy a 40" 1080p LCD HDTV(of course not any, a certain one) that originally cost $2,000 and you get...

For how much? $2089.96

You have a week to do this (June 23, 2007 is last day of this week). And there is another description of this in the newsletter that says it is $2689.96 (larger, 46"?), but BestBuy has to honor what their flier says, just bring in the front page and tell them they said you get a FREE PS3!

If there was ever a reason to get a PS3, I believe this is it.

They probably just bumped up the price on the TV to make up the difference, wouldn't be the first time a store has pulled that trick.

They did. I was just in BB the other day and the KDL40V2500 TV on the front cover there was selling for 1800$. If you also take into account that the KDL40V3000 is coming out in about a month it's obvious that the PS3 is not really free at all, but built into the "inflated" TV price. Regardless, the V2500 is an excellent TV and I was extremely close to getting one until I found out that the V3000 was coming so soon.

If you take the flier in, they HAVE to honor it.

Back when Perfect Dark (N64) was coming out. Flier said "Reserve it now for only $10 towards the full price of $39.99." I went to go pick it up, they tried to sell it to me for a total of $49.99, I showed the flier and bam, only had to pay an additional $30.

Granted there might be a mail-in-rebate, but stil...you get the money back.

They have to honor their print.

You're right, Brainderailment, but I still think that since the new model is coming out that this is their way of getting rid of TVs and Sony's way of getting PS3s into your living room. Blu-ray and games w/ HDMI Bravia.

That's about a $1600 TV that use to be about $2000. It's still not a horribly bad deal since you do save a good $200-300-ish dollars on the whole thing.

Sorry guys. It's just I wanted people to think about it a bit more before they opened their wallets. You look at the ad and think Free PS3 with TV, when in fact they raised the price on a TV that they will soon put on clearance. It's deceptive if you ask me.

I don't think they raised the price on the TV. more like the failed to LOWER the price.

In my store (Gainesville, FL) that TV was 1799.99$ this last Friday. I know because I've been watching it. It was the one I want until I found out that the newer model comes out in July. So... I'd say raised.
