At what price can you NOT pass on a game?
BlindsideDork | 9:05 AM on 10.29.2008 17 comments

This holiday season there are a lot of games coming out. We all know that but we have to save money and not buy everyone. But if you decided to hold off on one game, then you see it cheap for a limited time?

Due to a possible need of a new car and other expences, I need to hold back on buying some games. That means I have to wait on getting games like Little Big Planet and FarCry 2. I really wan tthem but I do need to save money. That is until I was pointed at a real "SlickDeal."

30% off of FarCry 2 for the Xbox 360. New games don't usually get that much taken off so soon unless they suck, which is not the case of this title. To make it even sweeter, shipping is only $3 brining the total to just under $45. How amazing is that?! But the question is...should I spend the money or wait on it? More of a rhetorical question for me, but for you guys...what is a price you cannot pass on a game you want very baddly?

And there were other nice deals here, like Saint's Row 2 for $2. Amazing?

Save now and pay more later or buy now and have to save even more later?

if there's a game i wanted to play but didn't buy it for money/time reasons.

Does anybody know how the framerate is on 360?

it depends how good the game is.

also how old the game is, and how many other games i have on my 'to play list' get factored in.

it ranges anywhere from $10-40

Seriously, get Far Cry 2. It's pretty epic. I have the PS3 version, and the explosions and shooting of random minorities makes it worthwhile. Sucks that I got Fallout 3 and that game is taking up most of my time now.

It really depends on what game it is for me too. Some games I've anticipated for awhile, so I've secured enough money to buy them full price at launch ahead of time. Others I kind of forget about until I see it for twenty dollars, then decide to buy it. How much time I have to devote to a new game also factors in as well.

If I see a game for less then 10 dollars, and I know it isn't complete shit, then I will get it, no questions asked. This is especially true for garage and yard sales where you find all the retro gems that people throw out. :D

I usually can't pass on a game if it's below $10-$15. For Example, I saw Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits for less than 5 dollars and I bought it for a rainy day :)

there are just too many fucking games this holiday season, the market is saturated, I need clones of myself just to play them all (and probably a sugar mama just to pay for it all)

The cost of my free time is more of an issue now, really. Price is the second factor!

30 bucks is the magic number for me.

@commish: Agreed. Fucking publishers need to learn to spread this shit through the year.

I'm ridiculously cheap. $20 is usually too much for me.

$2? LIAR!!! :p

It really depends what's going on tbh. Quite often I'll pass on a brand new, full price game because I typically have way too many games on the go at any one time. However, I'll quite often pick up one I was looking for if I see it for $20 or less. Usually if it's at that price I won't get many more chances to pick it up, so I take advantage while I can. :)

Sorry typo...I meant $42.

I certainly depends on the game. Though $30 for a game I really want makes it hard for me to pass it up.
