Sonic Unleashed: Super Sonic's gone(?), and now we've got a Werewolf.
Blake | 7:27 PM on 03.22.2008 2 comments

Alright, if you're a fan of Sonic, you may have known that SEGA recently filed a patent for the name "Sonic Unleashed". That was all we knew, up until very recently. Someone went into SEGA's FTP site/server, and in doing so, ended up finding some screenshots, those of a game now identified as "Sonic Unleashed".

Now, these screenshots seem pretty nice actually. It appears that the game may be a bit of a mix of Secret Rings, and the Adventure titles. Some people have said that the game may very well be 2.5D, sort of like the Sonic Rivals games. The Graphics are nice, so there's a chance of the game being on the 360 or the PS3. Some have wondered if the game will be on the Wii as well. But, what we're wondering the most in speculation land, is what purpose this "Were-Sonic" will have.

From screenshots, it seems that Eggman (Robotnik for those Jim and those others that prefer) has finally managed to defeat Sonic in his Super form, and seems to have taken away the ability for the Blue Blur to actually go Super. Speculators have come up with a theory saying that the machine Eggman used to rid Sonic of his Super-ness, actually gave him the ability to "Wolf out", and become the beastly Werewolf Sonic. I suppose we'll just have to find out as time goes on, and SEGA itself reveals information as time goes on.

What do you say? This is great. This doesn't mean that Super Sonic will be replaced with that Werehog.I looked for it on the Internet and i found that the game will be great. If you think the new werehog sonic is is worse than Super Sonic. then you must be cazy or something.
(sorry about my English but i'm from greece...)
I just registered because I saw this one.
It's the best sonic game i have ever played. If you play it or look about it, you will see what I mean.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?

Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!

 about me

Well, I suppose I should put something here.

The name's Blake. That's really all you need to know, besides the fact that I'm of the male persuasion, and that I love everything about game music. And the fact that I'm constantly undecided about things. Maybe.

Now, when it comes to games, I came in kind of late. I was born around the time the Playstation, N64, and Saturn were declining. The Gamecube was my first system to myself. Along with that, I currently own a Wii, a DS, and a Computer that's filled with Not-Roms and Indie games.
