Wii owners purchased 8.1 games for every system sold in the month of December according to NPD data. This great attach rate just barely beats out Xbox 360's figure of 7.8. The PS3 trailed with 5 games per console.

Wii owners (Implying total wii owners, close to 10 million) purchased 8.1 games for every system sold in the month of December according to NPD data.

Approximately 10 Million consoles, and decembers total was what maybe 1 million tops. So your left with 8 Million total wii games sold in the month of December or .8 per Wii console.

Explain how this is wrong?

Or:

My word, no one can solve a simple conundrum, and have to resort to posting images of stupidity memes.

Okay, sales report state that 8 (I'm rounding) games were sold as a ratio to the amount of wiis there are. Each wii owner has 8 wii games.

However, another source states only 10 million wii games were sold during that month (A more likely value), meaning 80 out of 100 wii owners bought ONE game. (And until Brawl comes out, the wii might not have a PERFECT library of games yet. Besides, Wii Sports can entertain you for so long)

The matter is you got two COMPLETELY conflict ideas. Is it a ratio of 1 to 8 or 10 to 8?

I think the point that he is trying to make here is that SOMEONE doesn't have sources right.

Listen, retard... the numbers were based on the game sales in December compared to every system sold FOR THE MONTH OF DECEMBER. THAT'S ONLY COUNTING THE WII SALES FOR THE MONTH OF DECEMBER. ONLY FOR THE MONTH OF DECEMBER. LIKE IT SAID IN THE ORIGINAL ARTICLE THAT YOU QUOTED. Later in the article it says the lifetime attach rate is only 4.6 for the Wii.

Ok ... Maybe I'm missing something, but I'll give this a shot. I actually don't give a shit about NPD numbers, so I don't read articles about them, so I'm going to take your word for what these figures are.

So, Dec. Wii sales: "decembers total was what maybe 1 million tops"
Dec. Wii game sales: "So your left with 8 Million total wii games sold in the month of December"

1 million consoles / 8 million games = 8 games/console. Isn't that right? An attachment rate of 8.1?

The NPD number were (and will be) skewed because of bundling. Microsoft's numbers (while being padded) aren't as great because you can find unbundled systems in the wild.
