Hello! Before I get started I just wanted to give a belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY to
Wardrox! May your mohawk stay upright and yellow! <3
...
Well, it's certainly been awhile hasn't it? Sorry that I haven't been terribly active, but I am still around. Good thing too, because otherwise I wouldn't have found out about
Blip Festival, a showcase for chiptunes artists, in New York City. After asking around and managing to find accomodations with the amazing
Superflossy (who let several people stay at her place by the way... she's cool like that :D), the stage was set for me to finally make a trip to the Big Apple!
So like I said, the awesome
Superflossy let me stay with her for the weekend. Little did I know she keeps some pet monkeys. Some very creepy monkeys:
In case it isn't clear, that was touching itself while making an introduction...
...
Back to good happenings, on Friday
Superflossy and I enjoyed a lovely brunch together before going to the Metropolitan Museum:
At the Met we got to see some amazing displays of Greek and Asian art:
There was also an indoor recreation of a garden/courtyard, that was stunning. Sadly though I got yelled at by security for trying to eat the fish in the pond:
Before we parted ways for a bit we tried to find out what all the NY Dtoiders were up to. Sadly it was like herding cats:
Until I got on the phone and straightened everybody out:
Having a few hours to kill on my own, I wandered around and came across the Museum of Sex. How bad could it be, right? Well it was bad... Real bad...
Funny at times, but anything that has Paris Hilton in it is still bad... (hopefully I've censored this enough that it doesn't offend anyone)
After the second traumatizing experience of the day I did finally meet up with everyone to have some delicious Mexican food...
... followed by some yummy New York style pizza.
Samit almost provided the highlight of the night, noticing a spelling error on the menu and almost telling our very large waiter about it. Shame, as I'm sure his beaten and bloodied body would have made for a great pizza topping.
Thus concludes my first day in New York. Stay tuned for pictures that are actually from Blipfest! :)

Looks like a wild time... except the whole museum bit. When I think of a "museum of sex" the first things that pop into mind have nothing to do with Paris Hilton fellatio or animal orgies.

I miss you! You should visit SF or LA when I'm visiting! <3

Also any picture that includes Paris Hilton offends me.

I think that was taken with Power Glove's camera. He definitely needs to be pestered about that. ;)
@Knives, Taxtix
Well, eventually. Sadly there isn't much call for a Yoshi in today's slumping economy, and the Nintendo gigs just aren't paying like they used to. :(

They were just part of the respective exhibits. There was a ton more, but they didn't have the same "wow" factor as those did.
Actually... there was another sculpture of two female bonobos... but I ran away from that as quickly as I could...
