Braid: Star Power: Let's a go

SPOILERS(kind of)

What is your take on the eight star challenges in Braid? I am half way through and I find it to add that side quest that I needed in the game. The Cloud Bridge one I dislike but the rest are a Challenge that I welcome. How did everyone else feel about it?

I felt the designer was trying to show us that in the way tim is obsessed with the princess, we too can become obsessed enough to spend 2 hour on the cloud bridge star.
