Well guys it’s that time of year again. The time for all the fanboys to come out of hiding in their bedrooms humping their consoles. It’s time for the PC gamers to once again scream about the fact that all games on both consoles and PC are better on the PC. It’s time for stupid celebs trying to make jokes about the gaming world in which they have no idea.

That’s right friends, it’s time for

SPIKE TV’S 2007 VGA’S!!

Yes that’s right. The station known for machismo films, and sub-par, male-oriented programming is bringing us this year’s VGA’s this Sunday at 9 PM EST/ 8 PM CST.

The list of games nominated is about what we expected but I have a few comments to make after you guys have read the list. I’m not posting pics as the screen is very long and I’m lazy so I don’t feel like typing it out for you, but I thought I would point out a few things.

1. Bioshock, Cod4, Orange Box, ME and H3 dominates the show. This was to be expected, but my God, you would think no other games of quality came out. What about Sranglehold…just kidding.
2. PS3 games are in short number. In fact, besides Ratchet and Clank, you only see PS3 games in the PS3 category. Here’s a hint Sony: Make games worth our fucking time!
3. The RPG category this year sucks. I’m a huge fan of FFT, but I can’t play it as I don’t have a PSP. I’ve heard of course good things about ES and ME, but still, I’m used to seeing REALLY good games here and it seems this section is just down a bit this year.
4. The amount of Wii games nominated for anything at all number…4. That’s it. So here’s a hint Nintendo…MAKE SOME DAMN GAMES PERIOD!!!

Now I don’t take the VGA’s too seriously, but it is one of the few things we, as gamers, get to show our pride for what we love. I’m not sure if it’s bad or not but to see the nominations basically wars between CoD4, Orange Box, Mass Effect, Bioshock and Halo 3 is sad. When all four of the nominees for GOTY are on the 360 is great for M$, but not for gamers. I would love to see some cross-console rivalry going on here but sadly, the 360 is leading the pack in releasing quality games. And the Nintendo fanboys will be foaming at the mouth since Metroid is only nominated for, get this, ONE award and that’s in the Best Wii category. Sad days when a name like Mario and Metroid is being beaten by Blue alien lesbian sex and Big Daddys.
