So I got to see the blu-ray version of the dark knight last night at my house and of course the movie is amazing still and even more super-badass in HD. But then I headed over to the special features on both the 1st and 2nd disc and I was sort of disappointed. The stuff they have is pretty good, they show how they did alot of the big stunts, talk about creating Joker's theme music with Hans Zimmer; the thing I probably was looking forward to the most was the pschology of Batman and some of the villains, of which Joker was a part of...problem was it was a really short part and they kept talking about Batman and I think they talked about Catwoman more than the Joker and IMO we should've gotten the most insight into his psyche. But the main reason I see the bonus features on this movie as sup-par is because what I wanted was as much stuff on the Joker as possible, I wanted extra scenes, pictures, little mini documentries that dwelve into how Nolan and Ledger envisioned the Joker and what was some of their inspiration, maybe some back-story on the character.
So yeah if your like me and was looking for a buncha Joker bonus stuff, these bonus features will for the most part be a let down. Movie is still awesome though and look forward to seeing it in theaters again when they re-release it so it can hopefully take down titanic.
P.S. His grammar isn't that bad I've seen worse. Stop being weiners. I didn't know the grammar police needed to be around and cry even when a cblog is totally legible.
P.S.S. BSD is fail due to the fact that he can't accept someone's opinion. :)
I thought the movie was pretty good, but honestly I'm not a movie person. I thought this would be my first bluray purchase. I doubt I'll ever have a first bluray purchase.
Eh w/e wasn't paying attention to my grammer, maybe because I was procrastinating writing two finals papers and felt like writing something where I don't need to worry much on how to properly use a coma.
And yeah as far as bonus features go I just wanted a bunch of joker material.
The history channel had an hour long special about the Batman comic series either before or shortly after the movie came out. It was pretty good actually, and what they said about the Joker makes sense on why he's such a good villan for Batman. He basically thinks Batman and his crusade, thus his life, is a joke. They commented that he believes that because there is random injustice, that will never stop, there can be no justice. Because of that Batman is a walking joke, fighting for something that will never happen. Someone telling you your life is a joke would make you pissed right? I would be anyway.
Wait for the special edition and stop crying. Nothing can beat Terminator 2: Judgment Day anyway.

There, I just written an comment that makes this blog sub-par.
People focus on Joker cause he was the only good part about the movie. Christian Bale is an overrated actor and plays a lousy Batman. He plays a decent Bruce Wayne, but lousy Batman.
Joker has always been one of my favorite villains, my reaction to Heath Ledger dying wasn't 'omg I have to go see the movie now' it was 'damn it what a douche now he can't do a sequel which will probably be not as good'
I'm still getting the Blu-Ray because the movie is what matters, I'm just saying the I was disappointed in the bonus features.
And yeah screw the fifth element, screw it hard cause we for some reason have like 8 copies of it on Blu-ray in our store as if anybody is buying them, but alas we only got 2 copies of the dark knight, not even enough to cover our pre-orders on it.

Wait... so you were disappointed with the fact that they didn't have more Joker bonus material? lol?
That stuff won't be released until the 2nd or 3rd iteration of the disc. They want your money and they want it bad.
Your lack of grammar and pictures makes my penis sad.
The movie wasn't good so therefore this is fail.
That really sucks.

I'd like to see a lot of behind the scene Ledger stuff.
Opinions are like mine...if they aren't they are LIES!!!

Haha anyways.. that's unfortunate that they don't have more features about the Joker considering he is what made that movie so amazing.
It probably won't stop me from picking up a copy.

Fifth Element can beat it by simply being Fifth Element alone...
The Fifth Element can suck it.
@Takeshi
You should check out the Ultimate-HDDVD German Import of T2...It's got even more stuff (interactive too) and is superior to the Domestic Blu-Ray.
YOU can suck it.
Jamnontheone thanks but no thanks. HDDVD combined with German Import? That's too much for me.
Reaprar can suck it.
@Reaprar
People focus on Joker cause he was the only good part about the movie. Christian Bale is an overrated actor and plays a lousy Batman. He plays a decent Bruce Wayne, but lousy Batman.
Jack Nicholson was/is the best Joker.
The Fifth Element can still suck it, along with Mila and her mosquito bite boobs. Not Theo Huxtable though. He's pretty awesome.
You are just jealous!
yes :(
@Takeshi
Don't let the German import scare you...Oddly, everything is still in English.
I was able to experience it due to my buddy importing titles since they are/were still produced overseas.
Reaprar loves Bale and wants to marry him CONFIRMED
In before WHY SO SERIOUS?
wait wait wait ... Heath Ledger didn't do a DVD commentary? What a douche bag!
I like Batman.
He punches people and stuff.
That sucks, because the Iron Man blu-ray is amazing
All I care about is picture quality and sound. I've seen footage of what the Blu Ray will look like and I won't complain about a damn thing.
Joker has always been one of my favorite villains, my reaction to Heath Ledger dying wasn't 'omg I have to go see the movie now' it was 'damn it what a douche now he can't do a sequel which will probably be not as good'
