Starcraft Class at UC Berkeley?!?!
Beryl 96 | 6:35 PM on 01.28.2009 8 comments

Alright so while visiting my old Starcraft clan's forum I came across a thread today. The guy who posted it did nothing but post three links to different blogs or video game rumor sites which explored this, one was even to a facebook account of what appears to be the instructor of the class. All I can say is that this is super badass...litterly...I have nothing else to say...

Dark Knight Blu-Ray features sub-par
Beryl 96 | 11:13 AM on 12.04.2008 32 comments

So I got to see the blu-ray version of the dark knight last night at my house and of course the movie is amazing still and even more super-badass in HD. But then I headed over to the special features on both the 1st and 2nd disc and I was sort of disappointed. The stuff they have is pretty good, they show how they did alot of the big stunts, talk about creating Joker's theme music with Hans Zimmer; the thing I probably was looking forward to the most was the pschology of Batman and some of the villains, of which Joker was a part of...problem was it was a really short part and they kept talking about Batman and I think they talked about Catwoman more than the Joker and IMO we should've gotten the most insight into his psyche. But the main reason I see the bonus features on this movie as sup-par is because what I wanted was as much stuff on the Joker as possible, I wanted extra scenes, pictures, little mini documentries that dwelve into how Nolan and Ledger envisioned the Joker and what was some of their inspiration, maybe some back-story on the character.

So yeah if your like me and was looking for a buncha Joker bonus stuff, these bonus features will for the most part be a let down. Movie is still awesome though and look forward to seeing it in theaters again when they re-release it so it can hopefully take down titanic.

MGS4, GoW2 late fees, New TV's, and return to CoD4 imminent
Beryl 96 | 12:53 PM on 12.01.2008 5 comments

So yeah me and my buddies have been raving about how amazing Metal Gear Solid 4 is and I keep telling them It'll win game of the year this year but they're skeptical. So my buddy decided to rent it because I couldn't(back to this later). And we went to my house and played this great interactive movie til about 1am. The game is awesome, and I never liked MGS games til this one(I played 1 or 2 and hated the controls and didn't touch it again til 4) I always thought the story was interesting and deep but I just hated the controls from the older games, that and PS3 is my first Playstation evar. So yeah, I really hope they go through with it and make like a movie trilogy of it, but of course only if its done right...looking at your Max Payne...

My most played game in November has been Gears 2, it's kept my attention really well, but most of that is surely due to my friends playing it as well. through the time I've had Gears I've only played CoD4(my top game) once, but its sort of funny cause me and my buddies will make 2-3 comments a night while playing gears as to how superior CoD4 is to it. Anyways, I've only been renting Gears so far, I was going to buy it but after the first two days of playing it I've sort of backed off that stance and for now will continue to rent it(work at Gamecrazy so I get free rentals at Hollywood video). Maybe I'll end up picking it up down the road but right now I'm really thinking of picking up MGS4. Oh and yeah, I got like a $3 late fee on the game cause the guy who was supposed to renew it for me forgot >:[

In gaming related news, I with the help of my Mom have purchased a super Hawt 46'' Samsung 1080p, don't recall the model number, but its the one with the red tint on the border of the TV and its like the top rated TV right now. So I look forward to relegating my parents to the 1080i Aquos while I enjoy gaming, blu-rays, and sports in lucious 1080p hawtness. Also I'll probably be back to playing CoD4 mostly in the next few days mostly because its such an awesome game.

Fighting off depression...
Beryl 96 | 12:38 AM on 11.10.2008 4 comments

So yeah yesterday was a horrible night...well...it was actually pretty good and fun aside from one horrible thing, we had order the Roy Jones vs. Calzaghe boxing match and well Roy lost...pretty bad...and he happens to be like my favorite athlete of all time so it made me a sad panda for the past day. After the match I also learned my Chicago Bulls also lost adding a level of suckage, and then we played some Horde on gears and NBA 2k9 while the girls who came over after the match mocked Roy a bit...But whatever goin' to Mexico for 5 days in about 2 hours so that better make me all better and when I get back I'm going to go pick up Gears 2 and try to learn to dominate in it like I do in CoD games :o anyways I'll miss Dtoid's awesome news updates over the next week, along with some of the other nice things we take for granted here in America...like clean water...JK, I'd lol but I'm still a sad panda.

Also Happy Veterans Day/Polish Independence Day/Armistace Day/Rememberance Day to everyone be sure to pwn some noobs and call them dirty warmongoring krauts that day...again JK bout that last part...but seriously...do it.

Blogging is to us today as IMing was to us in Middle School?
Beryl 96 | 2:13 PM on 11.01.2008 8 comments

So I'm not a blogger, least not until this, but I've heard the hype, and it reminded me of how everyone back during middle school was going ape shit over instant messaging and teck decks...wait that wasn't even middle school it was the rogue grade .... 6th! It had its own school called "intermediate school". But yeah, this is that beginning blog, the one that gets my feet wet, and I blogged once on gamebattles, I'm expecting similar results here...no responses, least probably not til I make some good ol' E-buddies here.

Anyways, reason I decided to make an account here at Dtoid was because quite frankly this is my favorite video game news site, I find many of the articles pretty funny, and the comments add to that as well, the time I discovered Dtoid was when I stumbled upon the 10 golden rules of online gaming and it was the funniest read me and my friends ever had.

Anyways, look forward to getting to know people and become a part of Dtoid but I know how most people who might stumble upon this might be feeling and its probably something like this: ... ... ...well I just uploaded a picture of spacecat saying he's indifferent to this news but its not here...its on the side of the writing area...maybe it'll appear somewhere on the blog.

P.S. how do you select tags for your blog?
