Well, my Ds (Yes, I still have an original Ds.) has finally submitted to a fatal hinge injury.
It survived for about two years with it, affecting the top screen and adding a yellow tint to all colors it displayed. It got much worse this week as the condition further deteriorated adding a terrible blue tint to all top screen colors. I can still use all the functions, but the top screen is near useless now; So I ordered a new Ds lite from Target.com.
I would've gotten another regular Ds if wasn't so sure that the hinge would just break again. And I think it's a real shame too, because I just love everything about the regular Ds; The button layout, the battery life, the nice speakers, and most of all: The chunky, solid design and feel.
I know what your thinking "Why didn't you just get a Dsi?" It's because I don't want my games distorted by a rectangular screen. Also, I think it's a ripoff. But that's not what I'm here to talk about.
Anyway, let me summarize:
- Boohoo, my Ds died...
- I got a Ds lite.
- Nintendo should've seen that hinge problem a mile away.
- I like the regular Ds.
- I don't like the Dsi.
