So let us talk in theory shall we? Let's say that I have a place. I buy mass beer. I set up various gaming consoles on two or three televisions. And I advertise for a gaming party of awesome proportions. Beer is in the fridge at One Dollar a drink. (cheaper then the bar) and there is a 5 Dollar cover charge to come in and chill with gaming people, get your game on in a household environment, and maybe a few monetary contests set up.
So Famitsu has a survey out for the top 10 items kids want. You can tell what the retarded kids want, their answer is at #6.
1. Wii Fit (Wii)
2. Dragon Quest IV (NDS)
3. NDS Lite
4. Wii
5. Slim PSP
6. Nothing
7. Layton Kyouju to Akuma no Hako (NDS)
8. Final Fantasy IV (NDS)
9. Game Center CX (NDS)
10. Super Robot Taisen Original Generations Gaiden (PS2)
I'd personally add three blow-up dolls and a pool full of KY Jelly to the list but I guess they are keeping it game related.
Imagine, if you will, a day when the graphic capabilities of the video-game system has come to its maximum. The day of the PS13, Xbox Infinity, and Nintendo Whatever. A day when the graphics of said system are on par with the realest of real. When you can hardly tell the difference between a polygonal character and a real life human-being. Where do we go from there?
It seems that the graphics of any given system is always the indication of its rank among other systems. What happens to that ranking system when graphics can no longer be quadrupled over the previous generation? Will game-play then take the front position of what makes a system truly "next-gen"? Or will it be the ability to produce realistic physics and the like? This may be a long ways away but while sitting on the crapper, it dawned on me. What will the future hold when this day comes? You can't get more realistic then real-life and that day in gaming will eventually come to fruition.
So when that day comes, however long it may be, will we ask ourselves "What system has the most revolutionary gameplay?" or "Which console has the best physics simulation.."?
Who knows... maybe when that day comes the Phantom will be out.

Is it just me or is there something to staying inside on an extremely cold day, all bundled up in warm-full bliss and playing your favorite video-game? Sure, you can play that game anytime of the year but there is a special magical time when playing that same game on a chilly afternoon. Sitting in front of your television and on your cozy couch (or floor) and knowing that outside its Chilly McChilsters out there, but you are inside and enjoying a nice dose of gaming bliss. Only in certain conditions can that feeling be felt. You get this tingly sensation and you know you are about to have a fantastic session of peaceful video-game playing. Nothing else matters, not inside or out. You are within your own confines of warmth and entertainment and everything else is blocked. Ah, what a great feeling that is. I am not a fan of Winter weather but I do look for that time of year when you can just plop in front of your T.V. and get your game on. Special times like these are only felt by a gamer.
Yes, finally. Sure I am a little late on the subject but I am completely stoked for the Ghostbusters game. It's been far too long my ghostly friends. Sucks that the Ecto won't be drivable but I'll take what I can get. The workmanship of the game looks to me movie-epic. Pretty much what Dan Akroyd had been saying in his GameInformer interview. This game WILL BE Ghostbusters 3 in a sense. Ah, I can't wait. Anyone else super excited for the possibilities? Maybe a Statue of Liberty battle? Yes please.
The name is Brent. I currently live among the residents of Virginia Beach, Virginia. I like liquor, women, fighting, poker, and of course video-games. I am overly sarcastic which many mistake as me being an asshat. I currently do not own any next-gen systems due to money constraints but in due time my friends. In due time.
I used to write for GameCube Advanced, an old site back in the day. They are currently known as the Advanced Media Network now. I sometimes believe I have a Video-Game system as a heart, my arms are the controllers, and I feed on shitty published titles (such as Superman 64). Video-gaming is a way of life and much of the Destructoid community knows this.
