About Me
The name is Brent. I currently live among the residents of Virginia Beach, Virginia. I like liquor, women, fighting, poker, and of course video-games. I am overly sarcastic which many mistake as me being an asshat. I currently do not own any next-gen systems due to money constraints but in due time my friends. In due time.

I used to write for GameCube Advanced, an old site back in the day. They are currently known as the Advanced Media Network now. I sometimes believe I have a Video-Game system as a heart, my arms are the controllers, and I feed on shitty published titles (such as Superman 64). Video-gaming is a way of life and much of the Destructoid community knows this.

I <3 you DESTRUCTOID.

Angry Gamer Face. Who Are You?
Beer Baron Brent | 3:48 PM on 12.15.2007 13 comments

So we all have done it, to some degree. Get angry at the video-game we are playing. Some of us just hold the Angry Gamer face. Some of us throw controllers towards the closest living thing. Some of us go into a blitzkrieg of a rage against all living and non-living objects. So, what are you? What is your Angry Gamer emotion? You even get points!!

[+1] Angry Gamer Face
[+3] Throw controllers
[+5] Yell and curse at the TV along with whoever may be at the other end of the voice-chat
[+7] Break controller and other items
[+10] Punch your kid brother for "talking" during an intense game-play moment
[+1337] Turn green and SMASH!!

One Man's Trash Is Another Man's Favorite Game: I Guess Part 1
Beer Baron Brent | 2:50 PM on 12.15.2007 5 comments

So I was thinking recently about some games I used to have back in the day that everyone seemed to dislike. So I thought I would go through a few games I enjoyed that others thought were trash. This isn't to reflect how EVERYONE felt about these games, just the games I owned that friends didn't like, but I loved.

First up is Army Men: Sarge's Heroes for the 64.

Sure this game wasn't a classic, but I loved playing as toy soldiers in a giant world. The single-player was frustrating but still enjoyable to me. The real meat of this game was the multi-player though. Roaming around on "Uncle Al's" couch and blasting away at my friends as they sat next to me cursing my exceptional Army Men skills was quite a riot. Maybe I am just a sucker for "rat" type maps. But this game still holds dear to my gaming heart. Too bad my Vietnamese neighbor borrowed it one day and then moved to Florida the next. Damn you!!

Tail of the Sun for the PS1

Now this game is completely full of win. My friends and little brothers played this and hated it, but I fell in love with it. You are a caveman and your goal is to find mammoth tusks to create a sort of bone ladder to the sun above. You got to kill crazy dinosaur creatures, eat food, and randomly fall asleep as you tried to run from evil beasts. There was a vast world to explore full of ruins and the such. It was just a great game to experience. Too bad I was too young to notice just how rare this game was, I ended up trading it for two PS2 games (DOA2 and Silent Scope). Oh how I regret that decision.

Ok so I was gonna write up more but I became extremely hungry while talking about caveman food so I guess I'll just make this the first part of more to come. Btw... if you have Tail of the Sun.... how much you want for it? =]

DQ Swords Gets New Stuffs For North American Release
Beer Baron Brent | 3:38 PM on 12.10.2007 2 comments

Dragon Quest Swords came out a handful of months ago in Japan, soo Square-Enix thought "What can we do to make up for this absurdly long delay? Let us add four new bosses of which are hidden and some sort of mode called... Payback!"

Yup. Four new bosses and a new unknown mode. Better then nothing I guess. Not like I am going to buy it anyways seeing as I lack the Wii system itself to play such a game. I am actually a late bloomer on the Dragon Quest front. My first DQ experience was with DQ8 on the PS2. Fantastic game by the way. If you haven't played it, go pick yourself up a cheap copy. Or you can just wait for DQS and get your RPG on then.

Exclusive Wii Music Title Via Parappa the Rapper Creators
Beer Baron Brent | 12:33 PM on 12.10.2007 9 comments

So browsing the vast interwebs I found that creators Masaya Matsuura and Rodney Alan Greenblat of the Parappa games will be working with Majesco to create a brand new Wii music title.

Sounds pretty interesting even though not much is known about it other than it will have the same visual style as the Parappa games. Honestly, anything by those guys I will gladly look twice into.

Maybe Rockakka The Rocker?

UPDATED - Press release found HERENESS

What Is You Lookin' Forward To, Dawg?
Beer Baron Brent | 12:16 PM on 12.10.2007 16 comments

Ok, so that was a horrible attempt at being "gangster" but I was wondering what games for each system my fellow Destructoid brothas and sistas are looking forward too. So, get to commenting! Rules are you can only pick ONE game for each system. I don't wanna see giant lists alright people? You don't have to have a game for EVERY system but it would be nice.

PS3 - Little Big Planet
Wii - Animal Crossing Wii
Xbox360 - Fable 2

Now... your turn me lads.

* side note... please fix the BBcode. I miss my giant bold lettering =[ *
