Beccy is the EU Community Manager and has the funny accent to prove it.
Her role is to "maintain the European presence on the site", which primarily involves refusing to cater to American spelling conventions. She moderates the forums and cblogs, heads up the UK regional group mailer and organises various meet ups throughout the year. She can be found at the European cons and expos surrounded by other people with funny accents, though she has been known to stray to the other side of the Atlantic on occasion.
Self-proclaimed master firer of Jaffa cannons.
Ethics disclaimer: She's credited in Vlambeer's LUFTRAUSERS and spends an inordinate amount of time hugging indie devs at expos. Naturally, she takes no part in the reviewing of such games. Even though they're GOTY.
Ladies and gentlemen, you're attending an expo at which you can be amongst the first in our noble country to get your hands on the best technology Sony and Microsoft can offer. You can play games weeks or even months away from release. You can pay rapt attention to the brightest minds in the industry during the developer sessions and leave Earl's Court a more informed individual.
Great. Now let's get the fun stuff sorted.
blah blah video games showfloor
nikmonroe has suggested that we spend the evening at Propstore on the South Bank, which is an open air café-bar on the riverfront. There's DJs and live bands until 02:00 and it's actually the last weekend before the bar shuts up for the winter, so if this takes your fancy, now's your chance to go.
The lovely Ben Bateman is, once again, combining cats and armoured land vehicles with alcohol by hosting another Tank Cat, so we also have the option of going to All Bar One at London Bridge for a few drinks.
Personally, I would suggest that we do a pub crawl of sorts and do both!

I hear they have consoles here or something?
Ladies and Gentlemen, our prodigal son has returned. Former party animal (and father-to-be!) Royston is gracing us with his presence today and the least we can do is get the man some barbecue meat. We'll meet at Bodean's Soho for lunch and put meat in our mouths.
If previous years are anything to go by, most people will be attending on the Saturday, so that means you're going to bedgrudgingly get into a huddle and have your photo taken today. Our ever-dedicated group photographer, AceFlibble, will be heading off to a gig at Wembley between 16:00 and 17:00, so I'd recommend gathering at 16:00 at the entrance to Earl's Court One to ensure that we leave him plenty of time to get to where he needs to go. Bring your sexy.
We'll then grab a dinner before heading off to the Stick Twiddler's afterparty at 19:00, which is only a five minute walk from the expo at The Pembroke Arms. It's a sold out event, so do remember your ticket.
Let's end this in (moderately-priced; I'm not made of money) style. B@1 Soho for 2-4-1 cocktails for £9.50 all night.
Drink, hug, cry, go home.
Boom. As ever, the mailer, the forums thread and my Twitter, @chromatogram, are all great ways to get involved. (My account is locked, but I'll happily accept you!) You'll probably stumble onto a group of us on the showfloor, but if you don't, please feel free to send me a message and I'll come and find you.
