Halo:Reach Community Tournament - Update

On this Saturday (May 28), 343 Industries and Halo Waypoint are hosting an online Halo:Reach tournament pitting various gaming communities against each other for prizes and internet glory. Destructoid was selected as one of 31 communities to compete in the tournament, and we need your help!

We can have up to 18 total players on the roster. If you would like to fight the good fight and kick ass in the name of Destructoid, leave a comment below, post in the official Halo: Reach thread, or get a hold of me on XBL (my gamertag is BadStar). WE NEED TO HAVE OUR ROSTER READY BY WEDNESDAY, so if you're interested, don't hesitate! I need your Dtoid username as well as your XBL gamertag if you want to play.

All the tournament and prize information can be found here. 31 communities are represented, including NeoGAF, Penny Arcade, HBO, HaloCharts, and more. Even if you're not interested in playing in the tournament, there will be custom games going all night with various community members, and there is no limit to how many members our custom teams have. Everybody who participates in the custom games will be entered into a random drawing for prizes!

Sounds fun, but I doubt I'm anywhere near good enough to be worthwhile on the team. Where does that leave us?

You don't have to be good. I'm more concerned with having fun with it and representing Dtoid as a community than I am with winning. Players of all skill levels can participate. Even if we get knocked out first round, we can still participate in the custom games and win some prizes.

This sounds interesting and really fun. I'm fairly new to the game, I've had it for about a month now, I've been looking to get into it competitively but have hesitated due to time and being busy with a few other games. Would you guys still be willing to pick me up for your team even though I'm a bit scrubby at the game?

I've played Halo exactly twice... however if you need that decoy person that is willing to run out there in the middle of the map and get shot so that her teammates can locate and take out the opposition - then just let me know! :)

Alright, I posted it on the forums but I'll post it here too if it helps (or potentailly hurts) my candidacy at all :P here's my Reach Service Record. Havent played much Halo lately but it usually doesnt take long for me to brush off rust.
