Killer Instinct: SNES

Since I'm tired of God telling me I suck, I decided I'd start my own little column called Gaming
Gold Classics. The first game I decided to write about is one of my classic cult favorites Killer
Instinct. As far as I can remember, this was the first fighting game to utilize a quick hitting
massive combo system which can arguably be the sole reason behind games such as Devil
May Cry, the newer system in Mortal Kombat and God of War. Rare's bloody little fighter had
potential to be one of the main front runners against then fighting game power houses Street
Fighter and Mortal Kombat, but followed up by a lack luster sequels on the N64 (KI:2 or
KI:Gold) which failed to live up to the hype of the first game IMO.
There are rumors of KI:3 surfacing which had drawn my interests.. in 2006. But with no word
on the horizon of the 3rd installment, I'm kind of at peace with the face that TJ Combo's look
can't get any worse than the unholy hybrid of Mike Tyson and a one-eyed pirate
