The recent release of Metroid Prime 3 reminded me of a scene from what is currently the best show on television: House. So I combed through the first three seasons to find a few instances of House gaming on the job.

During Season 1, House was somewhat of a Metroid fanboy. He can be seen playing Metroid Zero Mission on his Game Boy Advance SP, and he also plays Metroid Prime: Hunters on his DS Phat.

Shouldn't he be making sure his patient isn't dying?

House checks on his patient to see if he's in a coma. The guy obviously is if he didn't spring up and say "OMG! Hunters? I got next!"

There is no way he could be using morph ball while holding the DS like that.

Once again, House doesn't give a crap about his patients.

During Season 2, House changed his handheld of choice to the PSP. I have no idea why.

ATVs are fun

House does the smile-and-nod technique as Cameron lectures him about some ethical bullshit.

Season 3 continued with the PSP theme.

House still had his old PSP in Season 3, but gained another one from an autistic kid. Obviously, the producers are trying to say that the PSP is meant for people with autism.

Oh snap! Foreman wants a PSP bad enough that he'd steal it from a patient!

What's wrong with this picture? Oh yeah, House is playing Frogger... sideways.

House is awesome.

In conclusion, House is a kickass show, and made even more kickass by the fact that House is a gamer. I just hope that the Wii doesn't screw up his bum leg too much.

House changed his handheld of choice because he wasn't getting any damn work done with the DS around - too many good games. Plus Trauma Center made him believe he was getting shit done.

Haha I love it, I can picture House now trolling with his uncanny love of Samus.

Pretty soon, he'll need to play Phoenix Wright in order to learn from the malpractice suits he'll have to show up to.

I remember the autistic kid was playing some 2D platforming game, didn't even look like a real game. Then again, it was on PSP. Were you able to find any shots of that one so we can do some detective work?

Yeah, he was playing frogger. It's the seventh picture in the gallery.

I knew there were other reasons why he was so awesome.

any man that fakes brain cancer to have experimental happy drugs implanted in his brain is A-OK in my book.

House rocks, I can't wait for the next season to find out what's gonna happen with the whole team splitting up.

I watched the first 3 seasons all in a clump on DVD and I remember seeing each of those scenes. Nice write up!

Painful product placement, but hilarious anyhow. House is great, in that guilty pleasure kind of way.

The funny thing is that if you look at the Zero Mission shot, it's the start of the game. They probably booted up the game for the first time right before shooting.

I've known this forever. Also, a lot surgeons (I know plenty, I'm pre-med m'self) own a DS to improve their hand coordination.

Just another reason why I can't wait for Season 4.
