Burnout Paradise succumbs to the inevitable
BFeld13 | 2:32 PM on 01.24.2009 14 comments

We all knew that Burnout Paradise would eventually get Premium DLC, but nobody cares about having to pay for it due to all the free stuff we've reeceived in the last year. Considering publisher EA's leniency and generosity, however, I was a bit surprised to see that an unannounced Time Savers pack would appear on PSN and XBL eventually. Just like this week's Skate 2 "Unlock all" DLC, this will unlock everything in the game.

Am I mad? Not really. Am I surprised? Probably a bit more than I should be.

Anyway, I thought it was interesting. There is a screenshot from this week's CrashTV podcast below confirming it.

The description reads "Pressed for time? Love the cars? Want to have them all NOW? This one's for you." The current price tag is $0.00 but that will undoubtedly change.

This is stupid, and it's even dumber if achievements such as 101% completion still work after using this.
CALkulon's Destructoid Blog
Argh, stupidity redefined. I can the business side of it - people will buy it after all, but any 'gamer' who buys this should have the electricity from the console redirected to their testicles.
CelicaCrazed's Destructoid Blog
People can pay to unlock everything but that's not going to take away my online gold street signs any time soon :P
RonBurgandy2010's Destructoid Blog
Imagine a Wii Fit version of this. DLC to instantly slim you XD
akathatoneguy's Destructoid Blog
I don't see a problem with them offering the option to unlock everything. After all, you purchased the game, if you feel your time is better spent not having to unlock everything manually and it's worth the points, why not?

They don't take anything *away* from those of us who don't desire this option. It has no effect on us, so what's the big deal?
superezekiel's Destructoid Blog
Just wanted to say, I fucking love your header. The more Michael Clayton love the better.

A secondly, I want to say, it's weird living in the age without cheat codes.

I miss them so. So much.

@ AKAGuy

100% Agree.

@ Super Zekiel

Michael Clayton is a good movie.
Also, Dead Space has Cheat Codes.

I found these types of DLC a bit shocking myself, but everyone who has posted above me has already said it all. Real gamers will ignore them and continue doing what they love to do. Just don't buy it or pay it any attention and let those who want such things spend their money however they see fit.
liam2015's Destructoid Blog
I agree completely with calkulon
Kyousuke Nanbu's Destructoid Blog
I agree with Cotton, why are people throwing a fit over this? Its their money, if they wish to unlock everything and just mess around THEY CAN.

It doesn't make you anymore or less of a game, some people don't have the time to 100% something, being to just mess around with everything is perfectly fine.
BFeld13's Destructoid Blog
And Nanbu is back to being a douche! Yay!

I don't see how my post made it seem like I was throwing a fit about this. I was more surprised to see it coming from the devs who brought us a full year of free DLC.
Kyousuke Nanbu's Destructoid Blog
What?

I wasn't talking to you, I was talking to the people commenting here that they deserve physical harm for buying this.

I have no idea how you can interpret that as me being a douche, chill out man.
Necros's Destructoid Blog
I disagree with ever buying this, but if you're intending to use it as a party game due to the new features they're adding, then this makes total sense to quickly unlock everything for a party.
