Heard about the FF13 announcement yesterday, and it was only then that I realised how much the game was making me consider getting a PS3 over the 360 (sadly I presently have neither)
It got me thinking again of how much I have thought about what I like and dislike about the pair. Subscription-based and widely-loved XBL against the free but still fledgling PS Online, the more powerful PS3 against the often better-implemented 360. The fact that the PS3 doesn't require me to shell out a ridiculous sum for a wireless dongle, but instead has a controller that was obsolete for as long as it has existed, and reminds me of the lies about "last-gen technology".
When it comes down to it, I don't want to invest heavily in Blu-ray and the 360 is cheaper. Maybe a slightly false economy if I start paying for XBox live, but in my experience it's also a much better service, and they may even make it free to be competitive with PS3 at some point. But I still love MGS and desperately want to play #4, and there are a couple of Japanese titles coming for PS3 that Microsoft haven't yet swayed to their side.
Maybe I actually am entitled to be pissed at Sqeenix, they have made my life that little bit more difficult by stopping their game from being a deciding factor.
Edit: The non-exclusivity news is so big I actually forgot to talk about the trailer:
Beautiful FMV is par for the course in FF games, which actually makes that seem less remarkable for me. But there does seem to be slightly more combat gameplay footage here, which is enough to get me interested again. I've not gotten far in 12 yet, but this really isnt the "step foward, attack, return to your spot" stuff that I'm used to. It leaves me wondering just how it will all work with all that bouncing around. Certainly interested in seeing the implementation, and in smacking Stormtrooper clones around like that. And actually having a feminine protagonist that might actually be a woman this time.

That was a nice little write up though.
If I were you I would edit the post and put a Kids in the Hall clip as the video just to throw people off.
