With all the flak the PS3 has been taking recently against the likes of the Xbox 360, it seems there may be a shimmer of hope after all!
Kotaku has posted:
Console of Steel: The PS3 is Unkillable, based upon the results of a recent
stress test of the machine. It seems that the PS3 is able to survive in even the
most harsh environments with temperatures as low as 0° Fahrenheit and as high as 120°. The PS3 was in continuous use for 108 hours during each test, playing both games and Blu-Ray movies the entire time. It was noted that the system only experienced slight sluggishness once the temperature reached zero.
Sony seems to have put out a solid piece of hardware, with the
estimated failure rate of the PS3 being less than one-percent. Microsoft, I love the 360 dearly, but please for the love of all that is holy make sure your next console doesn't
just die when you're
playing Gears of War. Oh yeah, and
buy some D_skins.
At least we can rest easy knowing that after
the coming apocalypse, there will be cockroaches AND PS3's!
