Final Fantasy Tactics Trading Arts Now Available!
Azereki | 10:53 AM on 10.30.2007 5 comments

For those of you interested in all things Japanese and plastic, the new Final Fantasy Tactics Trading Arts as well as the Final Fantasy Miniature Trading Figures are now available at Play-Asia.com. They are apparently a limited availability item, so if you must have them make sure to pick some up soon. For those who don't know what the point of them are, they are typically highly sought after collectibles and work kinda like Gashapon. The figures run 5-7 dollars each, plus shipping obviously, and in return they send you a random figure in a sealed box. The idea is to collect them all, but since the boxes have no distinguishable markings, you have no idea what is inside until you open it up. There is always a chance that you will get duplicates while trying to purchase an entire set and that is where the trading part comes in. Of course, if you must know what you are buying before you purchase it you can always go to an anime convention or wait until a specialty shop picks them up. They typically sell complete sets for about 2-3 times what it would cost to purchase them at retail. Of course this can either be more or less expensive than you would normally pay depending on how unlucky you are! Good luck.

Wow, these look nice! Are there any other (less expensive) locations where I can buy them?

Not really, these are about as cheap as they come actually. You might try a local comic shop or something similar to see if they will carry them that way you don't have to pay shipping. Chances are they will have a higher mark-up though.
