AMD is really making a PR killing at CeBIT while it looks like Intel is twiddling its thumbs.
The biggest news for gamers? AMD debuts the 780G integrated graphics chipset. Yeah, I know, I can hear the snickers from the mention of the word "integrated." What we're looking at here is a fully integrated low-end GPU, with 3D and HD acceleration, not the half-assed shit that Intel has been churning out and calling "Industry Standard!!!1!"
The 780G also supports HybridCrossfire, which lets you pair it up with an additional add-on so all those cheapy Dells/HPs/eMachines from BestBuy and the like will actually be able to game! Also, a cheap-ass Home Theater PC just became an even closer eventuality.
This puts AMD's integrated graphics leaps about bounds in front of Intel and NVIDIA, and the big system integrators (Dell, HP, Gateway) are allegedly already buying up these chipsets. With AMD being competitive again, we can expect Intel's prices to drop back into comfortable range.

I just build my own pcs anyway. Good update though.
Most of us do, brainderailment, but this lowers the bar for everyone to afford a game-able PC. Forgot to mention, that's integrated DX10. :)
Psh, buy a real card
This is a start i guess... but its not enough. Amd really need to get their act together. Hell, dont nvidia have a hybrid sli thing going too?
yeah and I think intel just announced their new IGP as well with DX10 support and its supposed to be around 3x faster than their previous http://www.hexus.net/content/item.php?item=12175, but theres still a downside to this. Shared memory, so if you get a machine with 1 gig.. and you really want the IGP to do some work for you, you'd have to dedicate atleast 256mb to the chip for video memory.
I agree its a step in the right direction, and im glad they are all finally trying to bring todays graphics power to a cheaper market. But its still a ways off till it will be unified.
hmm, kinda interesting, and good.
