Childhood flashback #1 - Game Gear

I remember being a little kid and sitting on my brothers bed watching my cousin play his SEGA Game Gear. I was amazed at its bright screen. It was the first time I got to see Sonic in action and I was totally hypnotized by the speed and bright colors in the game. I remember going back in my room and closing my eyes and visualing the game and just wishing I had one..

Years later I eventually got one and I put about 6 mario stickers on it and I eventually lost the battery covers. I still have it today, it works and I still got the some stupid Donald Duck game that I could never beat.

The Game Gear was so weird. I asked for one for Christmas, then proceeded to try and woo girls in my class with it until another guy brought in his with LESS GAMES and got all the attention.

*No they're not. I was, for thinking they'd be impressed with my Game Gear and collection of titles including the Lillehammer Olympics.

I have one of those still. I have a battery pack, but that thing could eat 5 pounds of batteries in 2 hours. It was crazy I tells ya.

I believe I still have a Game gear. Mostly Sonic games (I was a huge Sonic fanboy back then, and still am a bit) but I did have a pretty fun Lost World: Jurassic Park game. Sure, the whole thing takes 20 minutes to beat from start to finish, but it was the first game I actually "beat," so it was good times.

I remember trying to sell it at a Gamestop and being bluntly told they don't take systems that old. *sniff* It's not THAT old! It had color, which is more than the Game Boy could ever say for itself.

i USED to have one, but my mom game gave mine away to Good Will along with all of my old school games and systems (she even gave my only copy of Chrono Trigger AND FF6 to them....)

I went to a good will store and picked up a Sega Genesis (in a NES box for some reason) with 2 or 3 games AND a Sega Game Gear with 2 games it also came with a SHIT LOAD of random cables that shouldn't even be in the box, I mean some didn't work and others weren't for the Sega, a couple were good though. Anyways everything I just mentioned came out to $10 total. I rule for finding that damn fine bargain.

I dont have a capture device, its just a youtube video i found. :) Im sure it was captured from a PC rom.
