That is quite the backlog of Final Fantasies you've worked your way through. Well done!
Persona 3's worth playing, though. Better yet, Persona 4. It's rocketed to the top of my "Best JRPGs of all Time" list.
Awesome title. I have felt that way far too many times before thanks to mmos and/or rum.
I'd suggest digging into Persona 3.
But I don't see Final Fantasy 6 or 6 Advance on that list....
You missed the best Final Fantasy of them all: Final Fantasy IX. Unless you already finished it that is. :p I have a shit load of jRPGs to finish. Actually... I have a lot of games that need to be finished...
Agree w/ DOTD and Aurain. . . I had sworn off JRPGs due to burnout until I tired Persona 4. Do yourself a favor.
@Aurain: I'm playing 6 right now.
@Diverse: IX is everyone I know's favourite, they have it at my local preowned/import store, only it's £40, which is the same price as a new release.
@Walkyourpath: I've been planning on getting P4, but right now I'm too poor, maybe someday...
@Avalon
I'm pretty sure FFIX is pretty cheap on Goozex.
Avalon51. You're a smart man, I like you.
Persona 3 was my burn-out game. I mean, there was something about it that just screamed "1 MORE" and I found myself up until 4 in the morning a few times. Yeah, that was a blast, but too much for me.
I'm surprised you wound up liking FF12 though. It's like the black sheep of the series for lots of people somehow. I mean, I liked it enough, and it was something different and fun. And I liked the Ivalice setting, as I own all of the games (sans Vagrant Story) where it pops up. For a persisting world of sorts in a Final Fantasy, it's not bad.
I think alot of people don't like Final Fantasy 12 because it's not like they imagined it would be. I love it, but I didn't go in with expectations of what the game play would be like. I obviously knew what the game was like, But I didn't know how it played.
Ivalice is great for a persisting world too. I don't really count Vagrant Story as the same mythology myself, but it does tie in a bit. I also find it strange how Final Fantasy Tactics is meant to be 200-300 years in the future of 12.
Ivalice suits itself better to an online game better than Vana'Diel of 11 I think too. It's easier to create a good story from a backstory and mythology most people recognise.
I'm assuming that Hume's suddenly think "Fuck Viera, Bangaa, and Nu Mou! Lets have a Purge!" and somehow lose all their technology while doing so.
I'm doing a playthrough of Dragon Quest IV now, oddly enough after playing Guadia Quest in Retro Game Challenge.
After that's done, I plan to play the 5th one, and then maybe finally get around to completing Persona 3 so I can move on to Persona 4.
And I've still got a bunch of FF games and a few DQ gameseither part-way finished or still waiting to be started up; halfway through VIII and IX, got the remake of #3 for the DS right at the end, #4 is about 3/4 finished, XII hasn't even been started yet, and DQVII and VIII sitting close to their respective ends.
