About Me
First off is my highest honour -- my shit on the front page of Destructoid.

I was born back in the days of yore, when 3-D graphics were only a dream.

I like games.

Super Nintendo had to be one of the best consoles. Mario, Metroid, Link, Kirby, Donkey Kong and everyone else came to the party. Good times.

I own a Super Nintendo, N64, Gamecube, Wii, PS1, PS2, PSP, Xbox, Xbox 360, Gameboy Pocket, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance, and a DS.

I regret missing some of the good old days, back in the early 90's, because I was too young to appreciate a good game when it smacked me in the face. Such is the folly of youth.

Somedays I wish I could have lived through such tumultuous times, what with the advent of Spandex tights and Rap, but then I think that it is much better to live longer and be younger than all of you people who did enjoy Super Metroid and Mario Kart in it's heyday and just be content with an emulator and a Xbox 360 controller.

Favorite Games: Mario series, Donkey Kong Country/64, Metroid series, Legend of Zelda series, Fable, Halo series, Shadow of the Colossus, GTA series, God of War 1 and 2, Morrowind, Oblivion, Tales of Symphonia, Final Fantasy X, Banjo Kazooie/Tooie and more that I can't recall.

Send me a friends request if you dare, just send a message telling me you're from Destructoid so I don't think you're a 63 year old pedophile masquerading as a teenage girl to lure gullible, young boys to your basement. And if that description both fits you and you are from Destructoid then expect to recieve my home phone number and address.

Update: One year later

New games I would add to my favorites are Gears of Wars series, Fallout 3, Mass Effect, Bioshock (hey, I was playing it when I joined!), and other games I cannot recall. Some games I have loved for a long time but forgot to list over a year ago are Rome: Total War, the top Mario games, and the main Pokemon GB games. The rest escape me at this time.

So these days God no longer compels you to blog, Atlas is Fontaine, and generally speaking I am pretty well known around these parts. (I hope) I regret not joining Destructoid sooner, when I first had the chance with a link from Chad Concelmo's IGN blog. Even he was born in the primordial soup IGN was, or so it would seem. I no longer frequent there or other gaming sites except from time to time because Destructoid is hopefully my internet home from here on out. A great place to be, cheers to another year at Destructoid!

Update: Another year later

Okay, so year three isn't going that great. I haven't blogged for six months and have barely visited the site. In fact, it is nearly November and my 2 years happened almost 2 months ago in early September. Damn life, going outside into the real world is time consuming! I haven't even turned on a videogame since April... (until just recently!) But of course I haven't forgotten about Dtoid; THE GREATEST SITE ON THE WEB! Sorry Dtoid, I will try to live less and Dtoid more.

Update: Another few years later

So life hit me... I still visit this site when I can... to think I started visiting this site when I was 15, and made an account two weeks after I turned 16... I'm 20 now, Destructoid is practically part of my life story at this point, even if I disappear for years at a time. Still, I remember the good old days, the days when Dtoid was like the Wild West, when I was at my most active, and when we would open the gates of Hell in our mischief, always walking on the edge of the banhammer. Now I'm just an ancient, obscure memory to the last surviving cowboys, a group even to this day I feel I'm a part of. Still, I raise my glass to you. Good times Destructoid, good times!

Oh, and to a few of us oldsters, Atlas is Fontaine.

Your Gaming Achievements Way Back in the 1900's
Atlas | 2:50 AM on 01.13.2008 19 comments

I caught all 150 Pokemon way back in the 1900's. Back before the creativity grew so stale Pokemon stopped ripping off animals and started copying other Pokemon. Man, that was a good time.

What are your gaming achievements of ye olden days of the 1900's? I still remember those days. Back before the iPod, the HDTV, Xbox Live, the internet (okay, maybe not that far back). I can still remember someone bragging about a 6 pound Motorola cellphone...

"My cellphone has CALL DISPLAY! and the battery is the size of a small truck. Am I cool or what?"

Ah, well, while the time before consoles became multimedia devices are long gone, I think we can still stretch our minds back to such classics like Ocarina of Time or (gasp) Super Mario Bros.

One of my best achievements was when I beat that level on Donkey Kong Country where that platform needed gas or it would stop and fall into an endless abyss. I hated it. Obviously being as young and inexperienced as I was, I sucked at everything. How else could I have such classics as "James Pond" or several movie tie-ins. How I avoided the worst of the worst is beyond me. I think I actually went back in time to prevent myself from playing Superman 64, but this has yet to be proven. Anyways, back to the Donkey Kong Country level, it took me nearly 50 lives (which I got from a cheat for 50 lives) but I finally beat it with my brother and narrowly avoided a young suicide. It was on the second last stage for those of you trying to remember it. I can't remember the name of the level.

While they can fit a SNES on my thumb nail nowadays, I will always remember back to when the cartridges stayed strong and the movies played on ye olde VHS. Rewind before you return your rentals please.

I never did.....

ZERO!

Why wouldn't it be one? Zero should be saved for someone who has nothing to say, therefore the space and time continuum does not allow for a zero since it cannot exist with or without a post.

Savvy?

"Reverse before you return your rentals please."
^isn't it "Rewind"?

also, I remember beating that level on my 2nd or 3rd try when I was 8.

Shit, it is rewind. I can barely remember that shit. My VCR started eating VHS movies, so bought a PS2. Luckily DVD players no longer costed a small fortune at that point. That's all I can remember about it these days. Also, I noticed no difference in quality between VHS and DVD.

Actually I bought a PS2 for Grand Theft Auto like the rest of us, but the DVD perk played a part in it.

Anyone remember watching Small Soldiers? That movies somehow captivated me and my brother. The action parts wore out from constant rewinds...

I beat Mega Man 2 only losing 2 lives. I was pretty proud of myself.

If I tried to do it now, I'd get my ass handed to me on a silver platter with a little note saying `Haha, You fucking SUCK.` stuck between the cheeks.

But when I was little, I was a Mega Man god... I don't have the time of the will to perfect my Mega Man runs anymore...

I used to try and beat Super Mario Bros. 3 without dying, but I would always end up dying in world 8 at some point at least once.

I was once very proud of my Tony Hawk skills, but I probably couldn't manage a fucking 360 anymore, it's been so long. Shame those games suck now.

at the time when megaman 2 was the only game I owned, I could beat heatman (well, just the disappearing block part) and quickman's stage (all of the laser parts) with my eye's closed going off of sound and time alone.

I remember the 1900's for playing games without actually getting closer to completing them, and enjoying them a whole lot more in the process!

I beat Zelda Ocarina of Time with all the heart containers and Gold Skulltulas. Not as hardcore as the guy who beat Megaman 2 losing only two lives, but I had fun.

Also, I actually got a message on my Pokemon Blue cartridge saying my file as corrupt. I guess I shouldn't have caught so many M's. =p
