About Me

Life is my hobby. Video games are my life.

I enjoy other things, but that's not important here. We're here for the love of video games.

I've been a loyal, addicted member of Destructoid since around March of 2008.
Thank you, Niero. Helluva site, man! I use it daily.

I've been a hardcore gamer since I received a N.E.S. Christmas of 1987. Can't believe it's been that long! Video games are a major part of my life and that will never change.

Systems and games come and go, but a great game will never, eeeeever be forgotten.

By the way, I ran a shirt company. A video game inspired shirt company. It was fun, while it lasted...

*Currently(January 2012), I'm busy as hell with:

*Batman: Arkham City(PS3) - Comic book video game perfection. Also, the combat challenge mode is utterly addiciting. I am... Batman.

*Super Mario 3D Land - Perfect mix of new and old Mario elements in a true 3D space. A near-perfect portable experience. I am always thankful for Nintendo. Also, the Special World is special.

*Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D - Pretty much what I wanted from a portable version of the classic Mercs mode from the Resident Evil series. Besides the frame rate issues(which don't seem so bad the more you play) and the permanent save fiasco, it's a damn fine, fun time. Also, addicting as hell.

*Bionic Commando Rearmed 2(PS3) - Although not as "clean" as the original remake, this sequel is a rad addition to the franchise. Also, jump.

*Marvel vs CAPCOM 3(PS3) - Albert. Chris. Also, Nathan. Elite.

*Donkey Kong Country Returns - Spectacular. One of the best, pure platform games in years. It's on like Donkey Kong! Wait. Can I say that?!

*Castlevania: Lords of Shadow(PS3) - Triumphant. An absorbing gothic effort from MercurySteam, Kojima Productions and, of course, Konami.

*Metroid: Other M - Ambitious. A 3D game with a 2D feel. The combo of running and gunning mixed with first person works surprisingly well. The strange tag team of Nintendo and Tecmo have delivered a bold and unique Samus Aran experience.

*Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game(PS3) - Epic. The classic video game graphics, sound, gameplay and references are awesome. Also, it's only 10 bucks.

*Punch Out!! Wii - Classic. This newest entry into the series proves it's best not to mess with a formula that works. The title defense mode is incredible(also, incredibly difficult)!

*Super Mario Galaxy 2 - Mesmerizing. Beyond amazing Nintendo platforming Miyamoto masterpiece. I'm now searching for the elusive green stars. One more to go...

*Mario Kart DS - Timeless. One of the best Mario Kart games in the franchise. It's damn near perfect. Dry Bones in the Dry Bomber! Do you snake?!

*Donkey Kong(Arcade) - Historic. Almost every week, after a tasty Philly Cheese Steak sandwich, my friend Eric and I play a few games of the Miyamoto classic at a local independent arcade/game store(Phoenix Games). We're training hard to one day defeat the scores of Mitchell and Wiebe(also, Chien). Listen, if you haven't seen The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters you are doing yourself a great deal of injustice.

*Games I can't wait for:
-The Last Gaurdian
-Resident Evil: Revelations
-Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City
-Resident Evil 6
-The Last of Us
-Kid Icarus: Uprising
-Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance
-Mirror's Edge 2
-Bubsy 4

Artemus | 8:02 PM on 04.24.2009 17 comments

I think we can all agree...
The world needs more cool video game shirts!

There's this new video game shirt site called http://1UPshirts.com
Click the link and check it out...

The site is like shirt.woot for gamers!
The first extremely limited edition shirt is called "The Robot man" and it's sick!
It's mega, man!
Get it while it lasts... It probably won't last long!

The shirts are selling for only $15, including S/H!
Helluva damn good deal...

Is this post awesome? Vote it up!

Like I said when you posted this last night, what the fuck is up with Mega Man's calves? They are like as thick as his legs!

@Garison
Actually this is mine and my friends dream project.
We realized the lack of cool video game shirts out there, and decided to try and do something about it.
These shirts are professionally screen printed and designed, we aren't selling crap here.
Dude, when has Mega Man ever been proportionate? This is an artistic interpretation of Mega Man in the da Vinci style. We aren't charging much, and you gotta admit it looks a lot better than most every crappy video game shirt out there.
Of course we are trying to make some money so we can keep making cool video game shirts... We already have a few awesome design ideas in the works.

Wait, why are you posting this twice in one day dude?

You can't hide yesterday's blog and just repost it.

Cool t-shirt, but don't cheat the system!

@Magnalon
I've been a member here for over a year now...
I love video games and 1UPshirts.com was born because of that reason.
We are just trying to make cool/affordable video game shirts for people to enjoy.
So far, we've been getting a lot of positive feedback.

All I'm saying is you hid your other blog, and in that one, acted like "omg what is this awesome-ness! (by innocently saying "I can't wait to pick one up! Can't wait to order one! Yee!") then re-posted the exact same blog, but now you reveal that you're the owner of the project. If you didn't hide the other one I wouldn't have even mentioned it.

It's dishonest, and "been here a year or not", it's against rule #4.

You should too.

I haven't seen the other blog. I think this is a great design but I never buy white shirts. Never.

Come on Artemus seriously, you know better. This wouldn't be so bad had you come clean in the first post yesterday and said you made it, it's no big deal we wouldn't of cast your blog into faildom, you've been here awhile so its ok. But lieing to us and pretending like you just stumbled on it then hiding the blog of yesterday and reposting today just to get more people to see it is just unacceptable and makes you look like a noob spamming the c-blogs with adverts. If I were you I'd edit this and come clean that its your shirt. Because as of right now it looks like your some paid actor on an infomercial

I made a mistake...
All I can say is that I put forth a lot of time, effort and hard work into making this project...
My honest intentions are to make cool video game shirts, as stated on the site's mission statement.
I'll admit, the site does need some work. Still, I'm happy as hell with the design, only the site itself needs a bit of shine.
That will come with time...

Wow, so you make a shirt, then try to pretend like you just stumbled across this skippy new site and wanted to share it with us all? Doesn't that seem a tad bit dickish to you? You coulda just said, "hey guys I have a site where I make shirts, check it out" but since you think you're being sneaky you can forget about getting any business outta me.

Haha, I lolled at some guy's comment on his site.

John Cena, Location WWF
"This guy edits out comments even if they're 1=FAIL, and fills in his own.

You can tell by the grammar that they're all his, by the way.

Unfortunately for him, he has to delete these manually, and go to work sometime..."[/i]

Haha wow. I've shown this failblog to at least 30 of my friends so far. It's freaking legendary. And from a 1 year member nonetheless!

Wait are you serious? I didn't even bother checking the site out, but if he is writing the reviews and moderating comments... alright I have to say it then... Artemus I never had anything against you until now, but your a dick. Hide this blog and we may forget this ever happened.

lol, after reading the blog post again it reads exactly like a advertisement even with a catch phrase at the end that is a pun on the websites name.

"I can't wait to pick one up!"
