I just purchased the Xbox 360 slim and here is my unboxing video. Its sleek, finger print prone and has a cute little beep when the power button is pressed.
Sitting in the dashboard, the Xbox is dead silent. While my content was transferring from my HDD to the new one, I did here a high pitched noise. Where it originated from specifically I'm not sure. It could have just been something settling in. I'm no tech expert.
The disc drive could not be heard from across the room while it was spinning, but up close it could be. Still a major improvement from the original 360. What was once a jet engine, is not a light whisper. The last thing I'll say is that this thing still gets a bit warm. As does the PS3, but with the history the Xbox 360 has, heat tends to scare me a bit. Lets hope Microsoft has redeemed themselves with the Xbox 360 S.

nice
Congrats on your new purchase! Enjoy! :)
I kinda want one of these. Let us know if you have any more thoughts/criticisms on the machine.
That connector on the back is TOSLINK, it's used for digital audio, you use it with surround sound set-ups. New 360 looks nice dude! Have you tried the wireless n yet?
the power birck is ..never mind
OMG! FREE BATIEREIS!is this worth getting i was planing on getting an xbox (damn excluesives) iand is it worht just getting the xbox slim ? i was just going to ge and old one
I got the slim because I knew my current one will die out anyway. SO might as well get the better version now to save myself the worry.

Wireless N works great btw. The data transfer was simple also. Allowed me to check or uncheck stuff from the old HDD.

Thanks for the comments guys, and yes, the brick is still a brick :P
Nice man, they don't have them where I live yet. :(
I love the new additions but that finish killed it for me. I already get a eye twitch when my iPhone and my DSiXL get smudged up. I guess I can just shut up considering you don't really need to handle the 360 on a regular basis.

Congrats!
I love the overall look, but I'm with Corduroy Turtle on hating the shiny finish. Even my PS3 Slim with its more matte-like look still collects a TON of dust and prints, and I can't imagine how this would look once my cats walked by it...

Still, the gadget geek in me is kind of hoping my 360 dies so I can get one. It's going on three years now... aren't they all supposed to die by that point?
I'm more of a matte person now that I've had the original PS3 for quite some time. And it beeps when you power it on? Like the PS3? :P

Well, I'm glad you like the new addition. Here's to hoping these new ones last.
congrats on the buy, I can't believe microsoft kept that secret so well, holy crap. I don't think I'll be able to drop the cash for one of those any time soon, so I guess till then you're going to have to be gamed through vicariously, sorry
I am doing extra work on the side specifically so I can buy one of these. Also, needs side-by-side pics to the original 360.
That is a sexy little console. While I hope to god my current 360 doesn't break, I wouldn't mind one of those.
If I hadn't spent so much money on lumber, a HD monitor, and random screws for my arcade cabinet project last pay...... this would be mine right now.

My old xbox can go to hell with all it's loud noises and freezing. :)
