I'm heartbroken by the look of this game... it looks like Bionic Commando in name only. The style of EVERYTHING looks nothing like I would expect a modern vision of BC would. I would go so far as to say this game is one of the few that should be kept in the realm of 2d (like Castlevania).

looks pretty good. but i wonder if they'll keep the whole 'hitler being resurrected' in there too? maybe even do a freaky 'Bionic Hitler' boss. Also I want a bionic arm like that ^_^

Why fucking not, Capcom?
I know it is a next-gen (gen-now) remake, but I would have preferred a DS version (because of the 2D graphics). Also, the DS is my most played system and I don't own any of these platforms.

A DS version would have been way better. It would have cost less money to make, and sold 10 times what this will sell.
Capcom has been fucking up their old franchises so badly in the last ten years. They put Mega Man Powered Up and Ultimate Ghosts N Goblins on the PSP where no one will play them, when both could have easily been on the DS. They let Capcom USA make that awful Final Fight game where Guy is a drug addict and you spend half your time playing roach stomping mini games.
They make Capcom Fighting Jam.
They make Viewtiful Joe, Red Hot Rumble.
And now this.
How can I not be pessimistic?
Hmm... It's got my eye. Now all it needs to prove is that it doesn't blow ass.
Oh... I've got the original on my GBA, so I'm kinda okay, but this better kick all kinds of ass. You don't besmirch the title of "worlds biggest Bionic Commando" fan and not refer to me.
I just need to find a copy of the original Famicom game.

Not to mention that that Capcom absolutely refuses to make a Mega Man Powered Up 2 for anything. Think about this for a second: Mega Man Powered Up 2 for XBLA. Wouldn't that sell a fuckton? Wouldn't the cost of that be minimal? Does Capcom understand how the profit equation is constructed?
I don't think so.
Capcom also seems to be afraid of unleashing the Blue Bomber (or Rush) on Virtual Console as well. And, since I never played Mega Man 2 I would definately pick that iteration up.
Capcom killed Viewtiful Joe and Street Fighter - with the only hope for the latter coming from Street Fighter II: Turbo HD Remix for XBLA and PSN. There is no hope for Viewtiful Joe - the series is dead.
Lost Planet was flawed much worse than Dead Rising, but how much would you be interested in a sequel that sought to patch the holes of either of these new franchises? I would like to, becasue they both have potential to achieve some great success.
And, apparently the Dead Rising engine was built to allow Capcom to make Mega Man Legends 3 (Rockman Dash 3), but (Mega Man creator) Inafune-san cannot fight for it right now. It is possible, but very, very unlikely.
Basically in Japan Capcom only has Monster Hunter and in the US and Japan they have Resident Evil. Those are the only franchises they have not ruined,

This news would be fantastic if I believed for a second that guy actually wants to make the game like he says he does.
Ok, this news IS fantastic and I will buy this game at least 14 times.
