My real name is William, but I go by Bryce. I live in Harrisburg, PA.

My dad first got me into gaming by taking me with him to LAN parties with his co-workers where we'd play Total Annihilation and Unreal Tournament until around 2 AM, which was very late for a second-grader. I was pretty much exclusively a casual PC gamer until I got my Xbox 360 Elite in the summer before my junior year of high school. Now mouse & keyboard feel wrong to control games. I have a Linux-based laptop that has problems showing Youtube videos, so I can't play PC games anymore.

I have ADHD, which, combined with a lot of shit that happened in my family, caused me to fail my senior year of high school, despite the fact that I was literally one of the smartest people in my class. I like programming and am trying to learn more about it. I'm also a huge physics nerd. I'm basically a cross between a nerd and a gamer. Just mash the two stereotypes together and you'll pretty much get me.

Modern Warfare 2 and Plagiarism?

I was watching some videos on Youtube that showed the entire campaign of MW2 from beginning to end (I don't give a shit about spoilers) when I noticed that one environment looked extremely familiar. The environment in question is at the 2:40 in this video (be warned, there's a huge spoiler around 4:45).

It's almost identical to a scene from the Michael Bay film The Rock, as seen here:

...

EDIT:
D'oh! It has been brought to my attention that this is an homage and not plagiarism, something which I somehow managed to completely overlook. I have therefore decided to hide this blog.

I fail to see how one thing being similar to another automatically implies plagiarism. This is clearly a deliberate tribute.

@Frampis:
It's plagiarism because the two are identical and I never saw The Rock in the end credits.

The game "BLACK" actually had an even better homage to the shower stalls in The Rock. Plus, most of the environment was destroy-able with your guns.

Dude, youre a dick.

Because Michael Bay films a scene in a movie out of hundreds of thousands of movies in the world, a game developer has to pay tribute?

I suppose Infinity Ward should specially thank Vertical Limit for the ice jump you do earlier on in the campaign. They should also pay homage to terrorists for giving them an excuse to make this game.

While I did think it looked very similar to The Rock when I played through this scene in the game, I came to the realization that Alcatraz wasn't the only place to how an old school shower block. So, hence, who gives a fuck?
