Marathon: The Endless Setlist 2
Arch649 | 7:20 PM on 05.05.2009 10 comments

Rock Band 2 is currently one of my favorite games this generation. There is something about those little plastic instruments that bring me such joy. I got all decked out with the new instrument set: The RB2 Stratocaster, the Mad Catz Precision Bass controller, the RB2 drum kit complete with cymbals (I even made a custom hi-hat stand for it) and a mic w/ stand. A little excessive I know, but it's all part of the fun.

Anyway I had unlocked the Endless Setlist 2 a while ago, but I was never brave enough to attempt it, until now. It was the very last thing I needed to complete on World Tour. So I had plenty of time on my hands today and I started this little endurance test at approx 10:30am this morning. I managed to finished it at 5:06pm today with the "Vinyl Artist" and "The Bladder of Steel Award" achievements (I only played Medium so that I could get Bladder of Steel. But don't think that it was any less grueling). I haven't played that long of a session in years. I fell like I'm pushing myself when I play for more than 2 hours.

I wasn't all bad tough. I did manage to rekindle my love for some forgotten songs. I pretty much forgot all about "Cool for Cats" and "Rob the Prez-O-dent". I have over 250 songs total so it's easy for a song to get lost.

But needless to say, I'll be putting away Rock Band 2 for a while. I'll pick it back up eventually. Maybe when The Beatles: Rock Band comes out I'll get the urge to play it again.

That is all.

good grief,u win.ur much more hardcore than I am,congrats ( I think ) lol. My friend DTRiiX wanted to do this but I told him to F off. I'm curious though;what instrument were u playing? and did u do this w/friends,or was it a solo venture into madness? and u know, even if I got up the masochism to do this there's no way in hell that I could go w/o pissing for 6 1/2 hours so...
...admit it,u were pissing in a bucket (or possibly a 2 liter bottle) today weren't u..be honest :)

Rob the Prez-O-Dent is probably the one song that just makes me mad (on drums). I just want to throttle someone after that.

Besides that, it's an awesome song.

I did the marathon set list with a friend earlier this year. We both traded off between bass and lead on expert. It was epic as hell, because we knew we had it in the bag except for ONE song that seemed to bungle us each time. when the time came we actually weathered the storm of the worst parts of the song and beat the set list. Great gaming memory.

I played it on Hard in order to get the Bladder of Steel achievement but failed on Visions. Lord I how hate that song...

I managed to get through it singing on hard. In no way did I get the bladder of steel (it was 6 hours and I needed drink/smoke breaks) but I felt goddamn accomplished after I did it.

The songs that killed me were Rob the Prez-O-Dent (all that up and down) and Shackler's revenge (way to high for me).

@LURFADUR

I probably would've played it on hard, but I didn't want to fail on Visions. Such an incoherent mess of a song.

And for the record, cause I failed to mention it, I did it on guitar. And I never had to pee the WHOLE TIME!!! I'm like a camel.

Nice job, man. I don't have the commitment to attempt this, because 5+ hours of Rock Band in a row sounds kinda boring, to be honest. I need to diversify.

I'm mentally preparing myself to go for it on Hard. I think I can do it, it's only really Panic Attack that's worrying me.
