Yea, MS blows. We live in a everybody makes money society and they want to take more of it from people with no time like you. I hate them.
If you don't play online...don't get it. But it is hard to believe that since the 360 is an online FPS machine.
They announced that a while ago, free content is available only for gold accounts during the first week.

The thing is, i was a gold member just a couple of weeks ago. It expired, and i had no reason to renew yet. Just for that, i can't download a god damn demo?

How are you surprised by this? They announced months ago demo releases would be delayed for Silver memberships. Old news is old.

Well I'm glad I have my PS3 as well.
I'm not saying this is new. I'm saying it's wrong. Online play is enough of a reason to upgrade to a gold membership. This is just pissing off silver members.

Arcanum, just make a new account and you have one free month of LIVE Gold for it, and the demo is yours! I realize how much time it may take, but it'll be worth it.

Because i use the online services when i NEED it. When i want to play online i renew my membership. Now i have to waste a one month card to play a freaking demo?

man i had a little cry about the EU getting the demo a week late, but man to have MS say "sorry coz you dont give us the cash, you wait at the back of the line."
Considering what service you get on Live Gold for the price its not such a bad deal for a year.
If you account has regressed to a Silver account, just either wait or forget about the demo. The full game is out soon anyway.
I once did a blog on Dtoid about whether Live should just be free, and in some cases I think it should be. MS want more players online but for some reason still make you pay for what other give for free. Still despite this, I still like the service.
What MS need to do is provide an update for Live, that flashes onscreen when you account is due to expire, everytime you attempt to log online, that way if you ignore or switch those alerts off, you only have yourself to blame. MS do this with bloddy Windows, so why on earth is it so hard to stick the same option on Live.

Just to qualify my last comment, it's just annoying to see half the blogs on dtoid be about Microsoft "fucking" someone for this or that, when it's really just some spoiled little bitch whining about something that at most is maybe mildly unfair. Like it's such a big deal that you had to wait a god damn week to play a GAME DEMO. Go play a game you own or ride a bike or read a goddamn book.

I barely play online either, I still think gold account is worth for the demos, this week alone I've gotten 3 which I've enjoyed the hell out of.
Its only fair, we pay for a particular service, we get certain bonuses for that service, want the same? Shut the fuck up and pay the 50 bucks, its less than a full price 360 game costs and its for ONE YEAR.
I don't really think this counts as MS "fucking" silver members. Maybe a little non-consensual heavy petting, but that's about it.
Dude, it's life. Business is a part of it. The idea is to force you into a Gold account. Pay the money and deal with it, or listen to Snaileb and just create a new account for the one month of Gold. It doesn't matter, it's only a demo.
Otherwise don't complain. Money talks dude. MS is trying to build it's own gaming economy where things have actual value. This is why they insist on charging for everything. They are greedy, and as Gordon Gekko once said: Greed is Good.
