Considering the age at which I made many of those save files, Sadie - high school/community college, still living with my parents - I strongly doubt I'll ever have the time to properly replace them. On the one hand, do I really need to have Yuna doing 99,999 a hit to be a complete person? On the other hand, GOD FUCKING DAMMIT.
Also, funny you should mention my life. My dad and uncle have complimented and then reamed me in turn because the first thing I did upon seeing the broken door was look through the (open) front door, then dash into the kitchen, grab a butcher knife, and make sure Ye Thief(ves) had left. Fucking stupid thing to do, me being 5'6" and having a vagina and all, but it makes a great story!
The cop who dusted for prints said the system's not nearly valuable enough to have been pawned; it's probably in someone's house. I hope God rapes them to death.

What blows even morely is that the only other thing they took was my roommate's old tenor sax, the one she brought safely out of Katrina and has loved sine she was 12. Now everyone's all "OMG SOMEONE WAS TRYING TO CRUSH YOUR SOULS," but I don't think it was a hate crime by one of our acquaintances so much as a crime of opportunity by a person or people too stupid to notice the nice camera or electric keyboard lying around the living room.

OK, so crackheads break into your house. Being a female, I suppose you have some nice jewelry, perhaps some name brand clothing and purses that would do well at a pawn shop..

We do have some nice jewelry, but as far as we can tell, they didn't even go back to our rooms; the green blanket I use as a rug (we have all hardwood floors) wasn't at all disturbed on my floor, and it was all there. We're pretty sure they just bashed in the back door, crawled in, grabbed some easy-to-carries, and went out the front in one swoop.
...I was going to discount neighborhood kids because the door had been bashed the fuck in so that the inside is stress-cracked and torn partly off the frame. But then how did they get in through that tiny-ass panel hole? The door's not openable anymore. Maybe accomplices. Goddammit.
Yeah, the landlord's springing for a much better door, and my sister's giving me her PS2 and copy of Disgaea, which she rarely plays. I just can't ever ever ever get that card back. ;_;
That sucks. When I was a kid some dicks stole me and my brothers gamegears when they robbed our house. It's the worst thing ever to imagine your best friend being played by some crackhead fool.
Yeah well as said by other before, in this case, with just a PS2 and sax gone, I would consider 'mentioning' to your neighbours what happened, maybe one of their kids coincidentially just 'borrowed one from a friend' on the same day!

Disgaea shouldn't be that hard to get now if you don't get it back. as for the memory card piece.....I can only weep with you as I know that pain.
It wouldn't be so bad if I wasn't capable of telling you that my first Disgaea file - my first-run file, the one where I blunder through the story and leave all the fancyass "extries" for another day - was at 146:53:49, Laharl at Level 648, Chapter 11 and Cycle Fucking 5.
The other one was better, but that's not the one I was staring at idly the other night as I talked on mah cell phones.

Actually, Blue, 648 is kinda pussy-ish for Disgaea. I believe the biggest extra boss you can fight is level 6,000.

Yeesh, sorry to hear that...I would probably bawl my eyes out if that happened to me. But as Sadie mentioned, thank your lucky stars that you’re still safe. While that specific stuff may not be easily replaceable, it certainly isn’t worth getting stabbed or worse.
That really really sucks, the last time I remember that someone broke into my house was when I was in elemntary school and the thieves couldn't disconnect the cable from my TV and didn't even got my N64 or SNES :).
They did however stole my dad 100+ vinyl discs and cds.
That's downright nasty. I hate things like that, always makes me feel weird. I know I'd be pretty upset if I lost my save games and all. Glad you are safe tho.

I feel you.. recently my exgirlfriend's apartment got robbed clean.... everything her ps2 all the mem cards, all games, her 360, her laptop, HD TV.... yeah it was quite a bullshit thing to happen and the police didnt do shit they were just like hey check some pawn shops.........

I shared your pain once, and I'm actually going to cry for you.
I've lost three FULL 500gb hard drives to stupid accidents, plus one full 300gb drive, my first 360 + games and my original PSX + Time Crisis with Lightgun (which I spent months trying to find in decent working order) to a house robbery.
All of which, data on the hard drives included, I have replaced. Shit, it cost me some monies, but I replaced it all. Everything but my game saves. I mean, I've lost cards before...but nothing as extreme as your situation.
I'm truly sorry for your loss. I can only recommend one of th following: SharkPort/Xport, MAX Drive or Code Breaker for PS2. Back-up your game saves on your PC. I know it won't get your saves back, but it'll keep your new ones safe.
Anyway, I wish you good luck getting your card back above all else! Crackheads/neighbourhood kids suck.
