Kohlstream is a badass

I bitched that my MGS collection lacked visual synergy, and Kohlstream fixed that but quick by photoshopping two really incredible PS2-sized box covers for Metal Gears 1/2 and 4 in essentially the same style as the Essential Collection (predominately white with b&w drawings by Yoji Shinkawa).

After buying some photo paper, I've got two boxes that look surprisingly goddamned official. Fucking badass.

That looks great! I wonder what other great alternative box covers exist/ are begging to be designed.

I want a new one for RE5, that one just doesn't groove with me.

Holy shit. That's really awesome. I've actually wanted to make some epic game covers for some of my favorites now that I have a working knowledge of photoshop.

Is the Disc in the Metal Gear 1 and 2 box actually for PS2? If it is, where did you get it?

Speaking of Yoji Shinkawa, he drew Snake on the top of my MGS4 gun metal gray PS3, right next to Hideo Kojima's signature.

My shelf would be jealous of the one that has those boxes on it.

Captainblue:
If you get MGS3: Subsistence, the second disc has translated, PS2-friendly versions of the first two Metal Gear games.

@Anthony
I remember when Subsistence came out, but I wasn't into MGS at the time. Do you know anywhere I can get it for cheapish? The internet is merciless when it comes to price for MGS3:Subsistence

Heh, I was just thinking about how out of place 4 looks with the rest. Pretty awesome stuff! Nothing can ever top the Japanese one though ;)

Okay, SWPM, I really need that special edition. Please bring it here, Konami?

Do want. I've got 2, 3, 4 but I've still to get Metal Gear Solid 1. I would like to buy a copy but they are so expensive...

Oh that darn Subsistence. I missed my chance at getting that for fifteen quid, so I spent £25 because I just had to play the game again with the freelook camera. Its a really sweet set though: well worth what you pay for it, even if the price does seem a little steep for an old game.

I'm very jealous. Then I saw a picture of the Japanese special edition. Now I'm very envious.

@Garison

Come on, you know we never get nice things. Japan gets all the cool shit.

Apparently if you buy MGS3 Subsistence in the Essentials collection it doesn't come with Metal Gear 1 + 2.

Hmm, I guess I missed out on that since the Essentials Collection (which i have) didn't come with the second Disc for MGS3...And it doesn't look like anyone on ebay is selling the second disc by itself :[

I got that Japanese special 20 anniversary edition. But its still sealed so I can't really say what's in the contents.

Wait, the Anniversary Collection in Japan came with the Metal Gear/Metal Gear 2 disc? Ours didn't have that... That figures. :(

I love metal gear 3. It is a great game for windows. I like this platform so much for their game structure. PlayStation uses Nvidia discrete graphics, so their graphics quality is also good. I like that so so. ossf design
