Hello, everybody. My name, as some of you already know, is Anonymouse, and I used to be quite an active member of Destructoid about a year or so ago. Unfortunately, I took the decision to stop using the Internet back in the summer of last year in order to focus on some fairly traumatic events in my personal life that involved parents, girlfriends and cucumbers. However, I have dealt with those, and am now ready to engage in the community once more. I think that I have matured like a fine wine over the past year, but I will let you be the judge of that. So sit back, relax, and let me take you on a largely pointless and somewhat silly journey.
I chose my username and avatar because I really like that boss character Mouser from
Super Mario Bros. 2. I liked the way that he just pulled bombs out of his backside and would throw them at you. In my younger days I wanted to be just like him, and sometimes I do think it would be useful to just make a bomb come out of your bum and throw it at annoying people. Also, I like mice in general, so there you go.
I've been an avid gamer since I was about 3, although my taste in games has remained mostly the same. I'm a big fan of shooter games, despite being hilariously bad at them. I also have a fondness for platformers, adventure games and point-and-click games. Really, I'll give anything at least one go, but I tend not to enjoy JRPGs. I currently own all three main consoles, though I may have to sell my PS3 or Wii soon in order to get a few extra pounds.
What have I been playing recently? Not a great deal, to be honest. I received a few games back at Christmas time but I've not played them that much. So in order to make this somewhat video games related, here's some thoughts on the games I got:
•
Call of Duty: Black Ops: I enjoyed the single player on this. It wasn't the best COD storyline by any means, but it produced a few fun-filled hours of twists and turns. As for the multiplayer, it seemed to be much more balance than
Modern Warfare 2's, but at the same time it seemed not quite as fulfilling as previous CODs. But it was still a good experience, and whenever I feel like playing a shooter with my mates, this is the one I go for.
•
Fallout: New Vegas: I have to say that I was quite disappointed with this one, which surprised me because
Fallout 3 was quite possibly one of my most played and loved games. I just couldn't connect with the characters or the Wasteland in the same way I did with
3. The game also seemed quite buggy in places, and whilst none of the bugs I encountered were game-breaking, it just felt frustrating that the game clearly hadn't been bug-checked very well. I imagine I'll give it another try sooner or later.
•
Donkey Kong Country Returns: Now this was my favourite game of the year. I have fond memories of the other
Countries, and this game was just one of the most fun and charming I've played in a while.
• I've also been eyeing up
Minecraft with a lot of interest lately. It looks like a fun little game, with lots of potential for someone like myself who likes to just mess around in sandbox-y sort of situations. If any Dtoiders can give me some more information about it, I would be quite grateful.
By the way, my Gamertag is Fraserrd. Feel free to send a friend request to me, but I doubt that I'll be on my 360 very often at this moment in time.
Destructoid is a great community, with a host of amazing people. It seems like quite a lot has changed since my last visit and that there are a few new people who I don't know that much about, so please forgive me if I seem like a silly fool at times. I also have restarted my Twitter account, which you can find
here. I think that's really all I have to say right now. I'm looking forward to catching up with the old gang and meeting some of the newer guys.
Cheers,
Mouse
Glad you're getting stuff worked out. There's a lot of spare love to go around here for somebody who seems as awesome as you do.
Hey, thanks! I really enjoyed the Tribunes. You got any plans to start them up again?
@Lord Daeth
Yeah, it was harder than I expected, but PERSEVERANCE got be through it!
@GAA

@mrandydixon
And I love you :)
I'm one of the newcomers..I'll explain the situation
QUICK run to cover *KRABOOM*
like Handsome Beast mentioned, we're in between wars and have become so short on soldiers that we have been forced to reproduce. Spam bots have become increasingly intelligent and sometimes have passed of as real humans.
*KRAHDOOHM*
A mine field of Fail Blogs surrounds every corner, no matter how hard we drill that blogs should be longer than two sentences, we still get Kamikaze attacks from people who won't listen... those poor souls
*TA TATATTTTTA*
Evil Lord Hamza has been dethroned by Kauz, so brighter days are upon us.. or so we think
Puppet Master Niero has tempted use with aid and a few people actually caught a glimpse of the new and improved Destructoid interface, but progress has yet to be reported
Thank you for returning in our time of need soldier
OH NO enemy tank sited from Kotaku
MOOVE OOUWWTTT!!!!

Oh... Oh god.
Yep, good to see you again, too.

@Glitchmaster
Ah, thanks for that. Yep, it does seem to be my sort of game, I reckon I'll be buying it pretty soon.
