**UPDATE: dyslixec and I posted it at the SAMETIME practically. Hahaha. OH WELL! IT'S WORTH TWO C-BLOGS!

So I'm happy but at the sametime I'm sad. Basically the preloading starts today and there's even a special deal going on Steam! But the BIG part of the news is that the Team Fortress 2 beta starts on the 17th! You read right. The 17th! JUST like Fortress Forever! UH OH! I'm excited about it! So mark your calendars! Preload if you want! JUST BE READY FOR IT!

Yeah, I'm kind of let down due to the fact that they said what they said and gave people hope in thinking it would be released today. Oh well, that will just make Monday get here sooner. I wonder if anyone actually took work off for it. :O

This whole 'beta' thing sounds like an interesting marketing ploy. My only question is that since it's unfinished software, will people actually play it?

Well then you're horribly incorrect sir. Considering people have waited a decade to play this, they definitely will. Even if it wasn't a decade they still would. Look at the COD 4 beta, Halo 3 beta and Quake Wars beta.

I'll give you a preloaded beta. Balth, this is the trend now and we are such suckers, so it works. But at the end, they end up happier (and richer) than we do.
