For the past month or so I've been getting really excited to play Aliens Vs. Predator on PC, regardless of what reviews say about the game or however far from the original PC releases that I love and still play to this day.

Been playing the demo on Steam dealing with all the bad matchmaking and items not working right, along with other issuses. The patch helped granted but still felt a bit lacking, since team deathmatch is where it's at, besides the single player.

So it all lead up to today (since the store I reserved from got it a day late) when I got to get home and play my long awaited, and wanted game. Looking at the box, I noticed on the top of the case it says Games for Windows, thought ok so I can use it with my Live account and it activates with that, (like fallout 3 before it) using their system which is okay. Flipping over to the back though I notice it requires Steam to activate. Seems odd to have two systems like that.

Getting home reluctantly open the game up and pop it in my drive. The installation instantly loads up steam and asks for my key and activates it. Followed by this... 'install'

WTF almost an hour to install a game from a disk? I know its not my system either. and 15 gig install when the requirements only ask for 4.6 gigs? Srsly dudes, my hopes for this game keep getting crushed...

O well in the hour it's been taking to install I've re-activated some accounts for photosharing checked all my webcomics and blogs and even typed this up in the time it's taken so far.

Still have some hopes for the game... which the single player campaigns better last longer then 4 hours a piece.

Oye still 15 mins to go.   read
