Hello. My Name is Analoge. I am using a pseudonym.
I am an aspiring writer who, strangely enough, would like to write about video games for a living.
I am a recovering sailor, formerly of United States Navy fame. Now I'm jobless, and it's pretty awesome. I will be attending college at the University of Mississippi in the very near future.
I'm in the Memphis, TN area, and would love to come* to any dtoider's house and play video games with them**.

I am currently playing:
Super Street Fighter IV
League of Legends

The Object Obscura Archive:
Shadow hearts: Covenant

Top Shop

No One Can Stop Mr. Domino

Incredible Crisis

MOAR:

The first video game I ever played was Ninja Gaiden. It took me ages to get past that knife throwing motherfucker in the second level.

Here's a list of some of my favorite video games, if you care:

Final Fantasy IX
Final Fantasy X
Psychonauts
Psychosomnium
Beyond Good and Evil
Earthworm Jim 1 and 2, but 2 was better because it's actually possible to beat. Also, Blind Cave Salamander is an awesome stage.
Mother 3
Shadow Hearts: Covenant
Donkey Kong Country 2
Yoshi's Island
Dynasty Warriors 4
Guilty Gear Accent Core (That was when they got Slayer just right.)
Katamari Damacy
No One Can Stop Mr. Domino
Bust A Groove
Gitaroo Man
Frequency/Amplitude
Killer 7
No More Heroes
The Castlevania Series

When I was younger, my older brother and I used to play Mortal Kombat (We had it for the Genesis, which we bought instead of a SNES strictly for the blood code.) and he would always beat me by tripping the shit out of me until I died. Years later I discovered low block. The world has never been the same.

Mindf*ck Monday: Waking Life

(Submitted for your approval: Mindfuck Monday, a weekly smorgasbord of sights and sounds the likes of which you cannot fathom.... Or just another guy streaming a movie, depending on how you want to look at it.)

Good evening, Destructoid.

Tonight's feature is Waking Life: an hour and a half of lucid dreaming, filmed by real actors then animated over. The movie looks great, and even if you can't quite wrap your head around some of the topics covered by the many smart people in the movie, you can at least feel smart.

As always, show starts at 9 Central/10 Eastern. You can watch here or at Relax-O-Vision.

See you there, dreamers.

Is this post awesome? Vote it up!

Filmed in Austin, TX! I know a few of the smaller actors from that film. Amazingly done and really captures the essence of the dreamtime and the elusiveness of how thought and sensation take place there! Excellent choice.

Hmm... It seems like something's changed with the way the player gets embedded. Might as well watch it here.

To say 'Yes' to one instant, is to say 'yes' to all existence.

God fucking damnit do I love this movie. Even though Alex Jones is typically an idiot, his bit in this movie made me tear up a bit:

"Resistance is not futile, we're gonna win this thing, humankind is too good, we're not a bunch of under-achievers! We're gonna stand up, and we're gonna be human beings. We're going to get fired up about the real things, the things that matter! Creativity, and the dynamic human spirit that refuses to submit."

Mm.

Life is a matter of a miracle that is collected over time by moments flabbergasted to be in each others presence. Flabbergasted!

<3 this movie, excellent choice sir :)

Awesome film. I`m sure many epiphanies have been triggered by this films` various discussions. And much scratching of heads. I personally think it is profound in many ways, and a veritable buffet of powerful philosophical ideas (and soundbites). If only people en-masse would think along these lines, the world would be a better, much calmer, place. Spiking water supplies with LSD is the only likely route to such a situation though, unfortunately.

'To say yes to one moment is too say yes to all existence.' Fuck yes.
