I've always been a huge fan of resident evil since back in the day. i borrowed my friends second disk to RE2 the day it came out while he played the first, since then it's been a beautiful orgy of zombies , blood guts, and late night swearing as i figure out WTF is going on. hell i saw the movies right as they came out; saw the first one the day after it came out since the theatre closed the day it came out cuz someone got stabbed and got a job while i was there. saw the second movie the day it came out, while not stellar movies or the best movies ever they were still ok, and in some cases added good filler to the resident evil franchise, while other parts made you wanna punch the creators. now we move on the the third installment of the series, extinction, how ironic that the title of the movie is where we all want the movie series to go to.

i don't know what the creators were smoking when they thought "lets put this in the desert" but i want some. there more pictures that are released make me less likely to see it, it doesn't make sense. now i know resident evil 4 wasn't raccoon city and it was awesome, but i never considered it a true resident evil game no zombies little to no umbrella it just doesn't feel right. now back to the movie, roaming through the desert to escape the oncoming zombie infestation menace... yeah... cuz theres so much water and food to keep you alive in the desert, makes sense. at least dying by the teeth of a zombie is quick and depending on where they get you seemingly painless.

yes mayne, carlos and hilarious token black guy are still alive.

but this movie looks more and more like it makes no sense, the fabled chewbaca defense of johnny cochran is more thought provoking than what this movie is heading twords.

srrrr-sly guys, WTF is wit the leather jacket and gloves in the desert? srsly

but yeah, after the disappointmenets of 1,2, and what is known of 3 is anyone thinking of seeing this? knowing my geek side i imagine i'll break down and see it but not happily. other than being happy knowing it's the last one.

Why would you break down and see it? The first 2 were pure shit. I'm a total Resident Evil geek, but if someone offered to pay for me, I still wouldn't go.

i'd see it cuz my life is just that boring. i only leave the house for but a few reasons: go buy something, work. i have no real friends, just destructoid. if it gets me out of the house it's worth it

yes they did do a great yob casting carlos. jill was somewhat good but her character i thought was written all wrong, too tough ass than what i pictured jill to be. plus she should have used a lock pick at least once, after all she is the master of lock picking. yet i always had to find the damn keys, figure that one out.

and yes blindside i do realize why they are in the desert and such, they are definatly not dressed to be in the desert. but from a survival stand point youd be better off not in the desert where theres not searing heat lack of food and water and dangerous venomus creatures that are there to kill you in a matter of minutes with their venom.

meh, i enjoyed the action of 2 more than 1. the laser room was cool. plus the red queens voice was creepy, all little english girls with the exception of jim sterling are creepy. i liked though seeing the writters take of how the outbreak happened, who would have ever guessed it was intentional. though i would have enjoyed more of how the game made it seem where they were experimenting with them and it slowly infected people till the whole facility was wiped out. i wish a fan of the series would have done the movies kinda
like the guy who did the silent hill movie.

I hated the first one mostly because it's basically an inferior version (and in some cases a blatant ripoff) of the movie "Cube."

You know i liked the first one quite a bit. I was slightly disappointed with it at the same time because it re-envisioned quite a bit and simplified some things.
The second one i really liked, however didn't so much care for the whole Alice and nemesis thing. However i thought it was a good movie, I was completely enthralled in the action and the alternate take on the RE events.
And the 3rd one intrigues me to say the least. I am not sure whats going on with it but it sounds good enough for me.

maybe 5 and the third movie are somewhat related? that would be cool but i doubt it would happen. it would also be cool if 3 was actually good since it's not basing it's self off any ideals of the games. i doubt that but who knows.

Why do "horror" movie directors combined soldiers with zombies/monsters?

because it evens the odds. that way you can have hundreds of zombies on screen wqithout your charactes dieing to quickly.

plus i dont think re3(movie) is a horror movie, the first one was sortof, the second one was a sctrict sci-fi action flick.
