come on, preorder from bulbasaur he needs to keep this job. he hasn't had a good one since fire red/leaf green.

do you want to be the very best, like no one ever was? is catching them your real test, and training them is your cause? do you think your the poke master? well on july 21st gamestop wants you to see the amazingness of the wii by holding a pokemon battle revolution, Pokemon Tournament. just show up with your DS and copy of Diamond or Pearl and you can wipe the floor with all the lil 10 year olds and become a true pokemon master.

first place gets Pokemon Battle Revolutions and a Poketopia t-shirt.
second place gets the t-shirt
and since no one is a real loser in the game of life you get a free special gift just for showing up.

is anyone else thinking about doing this? i was thinking we should form a team destructoid and sweep the nation in this pokemon tournament. plus if we find neat ways to advertise our team thats good advertisment for the dTOID

Damn, I was hoping they were offering extra trade-in credit for Diamond/Pearl. I'm going to dump my copy soon and that would've been swell.

-D- according to the website you'll get $15 for diamond/pearl, and thats the most they are offering for a ds game.

Where do you live that one close to you is not doing it? That was a huge list. Around me, 6 stores within 10 miles of each other are all doing it. Two of the stores are even in the same mall, less than a quarter-mile apart.

i live in kansas, which there is only one store doing it and it looks like it's maybe 45 minutes away which isn't too bad i guess. i'm trying the store locator and firefox is being a bitch and won't load it so i don't know for sure at the moment.

Ooo, the mall near me is going to be hosting it...

I honestly don't know if I would go to this, though. Besides the fun of getting utterly stomped by EV training tourney whores and assorted Game Sharkers, I'd feel like a jerk if I actually won over a bunch of kids. Going to the Toys R Us event where they handed out Mew was embarassing enough....

i doubt it's going to get tremendous turnout since i only found out about it on the website. i haven't seen any game sites or blogs mention it, i was thinking twice about it since my highest are in the mid-30's but i may go just for the free prize, and the fun of it. hell a 22 year old lil emo kid playing against kids would be hilarious, and won't be too much of a shock if i lose and go cry in a corner.

My main group is in their 50s, but I haven't even gotten to the Elite Four yet. I'm a big fan of Free Prizes though, so I'd probably like to stop in for that. Be nice if it was one of the legendary Pokemon that they only ever seem to release in Japan...

Or it could be a pin. Pins are good too.

You have to destroy these children's dreams. Their parents surely won't do it for them. So you go there, kick their asses, and make sure you talk a shit-ton of smack when you win.
