Ah yes. 2K's baseball series. One would think that these games would actually be, you know, good but this is not the case. How can one have the MLB license since (I believe) late 05 and constantly mess up?

Let's see, 2K6 was a total mess, 2K7 was actually decent and 2K8 was a total letdown from the pitching and the bad framerate. And that leaves up with the newest release, MLB 2K9. It does some things right like the pitching and presentation/commentary (no more Jon Miller and Joe Morgan!) and some things really wrong. Take for example, the hitting system. Yes, the hit stick works but it works too well. Just like the last few years, Everything is homerun or bust.

One thing that has boggled my mind since 2K6 is are the player models.

the models in the NBA and NHL games are really good (heck, even NFL 2K5 looks better) but why cannot they get it right? Chris Getz has Mark Buehrle's head, almost every jersey has a mistake and every other player looks like a burn victim. It's the little things that matter and a certain PS3 game does it better.

I don't know where 2K can take the series from here, but they need to do something since The Show is better in every way possible.

I mean, i recently got my PS3 (MGS4 <3) and i downloaded the demo of Resistance off the PSN and i wasn't really "wowed" by it. But then again, it's just a demo. I don't really feel like checking out the full game. Is Resistance 2 gonna be worth it with the new Socom coming out around the same time and Killzone won't be that far away as well.


and finally, what games should I check out for the PS3? I own:

MLB 08: The Show
Uncharted
Rachet and Clank Future
Unreal Tournament 3

Seriously. Aerosmith blows. And a game with ONLY Aerosmith in it is gonna be boring as shit. The Aerosmith tracks in Rock Band and Guitar Hero 3 sucked. Even if i did like them, playing all of their songs will get boring really fast. I mean isn't the Guitar Hero series about variety?

But, if Activison is smart, they would release this in the $20-$40 range with the game only and no guitar. But knowing Activison...

I have a few bones to pick with it.

I don't like the "new" edgier, i don't give a fuck Ethan Thomas. Reminds me of the darker and always pissed off Prince of Persia. I didn't even feel the need to finish the The Warrior Within because Ubi Soft thought it was a good idea to play fucking Godsmack every time you got into a battle.



Also, I don't like the fact that they didn't bring back Greg Grunberg to reprise his role. I thought he did a fine job in the first game but now since the new Ethan looks like a schmuck, there's no doubt that I won't like the character as much as I did before.

And finally, are any of you actually excited for the multiplayer?
