Ah, gaming... isn't it wonderful? All these console wars, handhelds being almost as good as last get systems, and PCs running games near lifelike with dual video cards and quad cord processors and whatnot. Thus is why we're here, right? A gaming community gathering to share news of games, gamers, and other things revolving around words starting with "G" and ending with "ames". I kinda see myself as a gaming neutral. I love all 3 current gen consoles for different reasons. But... I guess if I did have to choose a side, yes... I would lean toward Sony's shoulder.

My forte of games rolls around in the area of fighting games and RPGs. I can hold my own in puzzles and racers around the fun level of Mario Kart. My fav fighting game? Just in case you haven't heard me preach it enough times, that would be NeoGeo fighting games... namely the King of Fighter Series. That series has multiple RPG-level storylines and does a near flawless job of combining many characters, both main and minor, into one universe without losing any of their personality. Seeing a fighting game do that just makes my brainmeats happy. Now, I'm not knocking down the great Street Fighter, Guilty Gear, or Soul Caliber (for they are all great games as well), but KoF has elements that I think hardly any other fighting game has while still staying a fighting game. You HAVE to give props to that. Of course, like almost everything Nintendo, Smash Bros is pretty much in a league of its own, and I've given many days of my life playing the hell outta that game with my brothers (unfortunately, I still suck at it).

RPG... I'd have to say that Valkyrie Profile and Star Ocean 2 (both PS1) are the top of my list... Final Fantasy III, VII, & XII sharing that spot light. Final Fantasy is a given so I'll spare you the boring descriptions... but both VP and SO2 are RPGs that I have fond memories of... and for the generation of console that those are for I can still go back and play those almost anyday and still have as much fun. Not many RPGs have that replay value.

Welp, I never wrote too much of a blog really. Never thought it was much point to it since I'm not online most of the time. That is changing little by little, and since this is one of the few days I have absolutely nothing to do (I think the last time I had a day like this was sometime in 2005...) I figured I'd give it a shot on one of the sites I'm getting addicted to quickly. I'll keep it short and sweet. At the beginning... there was time... <Short white girl walks next to black dude typing right now> "Shorter dear... much shorter..." <Kiss on the cheek before walking off.> Alright, fine. Name's Rick. I currently reside in Federal Way, Washington... though I'll always be a Californian through and through (Long Beach, wussup!?!). I've been in Washington for about 5 years now. Will say it's pretty coo here, with is trees and all, but mofos don't know how to drive worth crap here and they have some pretty sad excuses for beaches around here (Sharp rocks next to water are NOT beaches... they're wet rocks of pain...). Anyway, live here with my wife, no kids, etc etc. Decent job and all that. My current systems are PS1, PS2, Gamecube, Gameboy SP, PSP, and the mighty NeoGeo Pocket (I would love for PSP to get a DECENT Capcom vs. SNK Card Fighters... that would so rape my face). As you can tell, I am a Sony type of guy buy I have love and respect for all systems. No XBox cuz even though I love em, I hate their controller and a lot of their library appeals to my brothers, not me (I'm a major RPG type of guy). I plan on getting a PS3 sometime in the near future. I'm also a tabletop gamer, or pen and paper to some peeps. "Play-testing" a game my friend made for a while, and that is turning out pretty sweet. I do dabble in my D&D roots from time to time, and I've only touched the White Wolf gig (not too much for vampires and ware wolfs... that's my wife's department). Welp, that's me in a nutshell. I'll write more when I have time (and if anyone cares), so for now... PEACE OUT!! Oh, and for ones wondering about my avitar... yes... I'm a boob man. Yet, though I love her to death, my wife is a short petite White chick... I'm still figuring out how that happened.
