<walks up to the mic on stage to see the same small amount of people waiting. A slightly audible sigh sneaks out as he looks down at his clip board. "At least it's only a small talk today." he says to himself while tossing the clipboard to the side and off the stage. A cat's cry is heard as Rick clears his throat>
Peeps and peepettes, welcome to another edition of WILFVG. I'm still working on the acronym. This is going to be very very short, so I'm sure that will make you all happy. Though I have my own little (not that popular) series going, if I make this too long it'll be like I'm biting off
a certain other update.
This notice is for all the Haxan's, Y0j1mb0's, and especially nilcam's out there. You guys are officially put on notice by me. This is not to say that I am throwing the challenge myself, but there is someone out there you must find and challenge.
On Friday I fought a decent Fei Long user for a bit. Just like most people I fight for a while, after a few games I got the hang of him and it was hard pressed for him to win from there. Not trying to brag at all... just the way I function I guess. Anyway, I complamented his skill as I do everyone else, and he gave me a list of friends, also non-shoto fighters, that I could get some rounds in with as well. I took the list, added all to my friends list, and continued my quest to learn more.
Person after person on that list was the same thing... I'd probably lose the first match, but then never again. Then I ran into
HIM. Another Fei user I was anticipating, but he said he was in a Rufus mood so I said it was fine... how often do we get Rufus anyway?
Now, again I'm not trying to brag, but I feel I kick some ass at this point. I'm getting better with my E. Honda and Rose, and I'm touching Bison and Sakura now, and my Chun-Li? Well, you can ask some people here about my Chun-Li. I play with the 3 aforementioned names above as often as I can, and we have a grand time. Our skills are pretty matched.
But this Rufus user... oh my shit... my poor poor shit. He handed my ass to me... well... handedly. I was Chun Li the whole time, and out of the 15 matched we played I won 1 of them, and a few rounds here and there. And I have a feeling he was just trying other shit to see if they worked on the rounds and 1 match I won. It's like almost everything Rufus dide was safe... I know so many combos with Chun Li and I couldn't pull off one. By the 14th match or so, there were a couple of openings that I could of done things, but I was so burnt out and used to NOT having a chance that the opportunity was wasted.
You know how when you're trying to get better and you get those challangers that suck so much that it was basically just a bonus round for you? I felt I was his bonus round. I sucked so much against his Rufus that I couldn't learn anything because I couldn't DO anything.
So Haxan... Y0j1mb0... and especially nilcam. Look for this guy on PSN... this
QisTopTier guy. Anybody else can look for him too if they want a challange. Tell him I sent ya. If you want a non-shoto challenge... this is your guy. I still haven't fought his Fei Long or E. Honda yet, but I'm still having bad dreams about his Rufus.
What did I learn from this? Just when you say "I think I pretty much own this character... I can beat almost anyone if given the chance", Karma laughs at you, bends you over, and makes you its bitch.
Thank you. Good night!
P.S. Hope you got my lil message on PSN nilcam. :)

Have you ever come accross a great Gen player? I don't think i've ever seen him in a ranked match.

(For those who don't know, Q is one of the weirdest characters in 3rd strike).

He was a good sport and started playing other people after a while and he won most of them still but I got in a few wins here and there.
But yeah, there are monsters lurking out there on SF4 online.

@Narishma
Thanks for that, now I understand what the name means. I remember that freak Q, and if he mastered him then it was gameover for me once I challenged him.
Yeah, I thought I was kicking ass, which I'm starting to do most cases, then I get owned by this guy and I'm put back in my place. I think if I play him a few hundred times I'll get him down.
No... not really.
