An Introduction to the Life and Times of Alice-Alive

It's 4 am, I've just finished a quad-shot mocha, and the night is still young. Let's do this: I've told Destructoid that my name is Alice-Alive, which is a grievous lie, as my name is not really Alice, and for that I apologize. Real name is Alisha, and I've had the pleasure of meeting some wonderful members of the Destructoid community over the years at PAX Primes and other various events, but I have yet to introduce myself to the boards.

I am 22 years old, an Aries, and my favorite color is yellow. I have a cat, a Himalayan-Persian ginger that I love more than I can imagine loving my own children, which I have yet to have in fear that they will take away from my cat-time. I have both a terrible and amazing memory, since I can forget minor details but remember complete, detailed storylines of video games over a decade later. When I do forget things, my over-active imagination fills in the blanks, which leads to all kinds of wacky misadventures (by which I mean never-ending confusion and frustration).

It probably goes without saying, but video games are and always have been a large part of my life. I learned how to read by playing Final Fantasy 3 (6) and Chrono Trigger on SNES. Video games inspired me all through my childhood and adulthood, and have influenced me in my goals and aspirations. Through video games, I found my love and initial inspiration for writing fiction. Later on, my very first job was at the local Game Crazy (RIP), and I met the love of my life through video games. Our wedding is less than a year away.

Favorite games include those that I can become obsessed with and immersed in, and lose countless hours to, mostly RPGs (JRPGs and otherwise).

I really enjoy social and philosophical commentary in and about games, and I anticipate that being a lot of what I may blog about. Luckily, it looks like a lot of you are interested in that as well, so I'm looking forward to some good discussions!
