Since my very first post is a contest entry, I figured that I'll make the second a sort of intro post.
Hi, I'm Akarshi. Nice to meet you all, to whomever is reading this. I started video-gaming at the age of 5, when my dad got a computer and when my friend's dad brought a copy of...Super Bubsy.
Yes, the very first video game that I have ever played in my life was Super Bubsy. It was not the best start, but it got me interested. My second game was Crazy Castle 3, courtesy of my well-meaning mother. It's a wonder that I didn't grow up to become a video game hater. Thankfully, the trend of suckiness ended when I got Pokemon Red for my birthday.
Nowadays, I like playing RPGs, both cRPGs and jRPGs. I don't play cRPGs as often because I have a pretty bad laptop, but I still like them. Recently, I've been playing old cRPGs like Planescape: Torment and Baldur's Gate II...on the console side of things, I'm playing Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne.
Traits I like in RPGs are:
1. Good story. It doesn't have to be deep. It just has to be good. And by 'good', I mean entertaining.
2. Multiple dialogue options.
3. Engaging battle system. Incidentally, I'm partial to AI-controlled party members. It makes them more alive, in my opinion, not a bunch of puppet slaves doing whatever attack I tell them to. Um, yeah.
4. Multiple Endings.
That's about it. read
