Hello once again, D-Toiders!

I would just like to bring attention to the fact that even the most hardcore gamer will, at one point, own a sports game and be secretly addicted to it. Well, I'm here to tell you that it is not shameful to play those sports games! Here's an example of such secrecy:

I've been gaming for 30 years and for 30 years I have hated sports games. No addiction to them from me. MMO titles, well that's another story.

I used to play a lot of Tiger Woods games back in the Gamecube era. Like a lot, to the point of during the Summer breaks, that was the go to multiplayer game for me and my friends.

What?? I'm a "hardcore gamer" and I buy EA's newest NHL game every year. Being a gamer and being a sports fan/athlete aren't mutually exclusive.

I'm with portable nerd... never liked a sports game and have only tried one or two.
... then again, I rarely, if ever, watch sports on TV and have little to no interest in sports. Being Canadian though, I can't help but absorb hockey information... so I know way too much about the Canucks considering I've never actually watched a hockey game on TV! LOL!

I still love Downhill Domination for the PS2. Riding a llama off the edge of a cliff ranks as one of my favourite gaming experiences of all time.

Do extreme sports games count? I played the crap out of Tony Hawk and SSX back in the day.

The only "sports" games I ever really liked were games like Tony Hawk or Jet set Radio, but I don't really consider those to be sports games on account of how arcade-y they are.

I love baseball so I used to play MVP Baseball, but the last one I played was 2004. I don't know if I was addicted to it per se.

Like everyone needs to chime in how they ONLY played this or that, like it's some secret mark of shame to like sports games and you're not cool if you don't dispute the claim that you like Madden.

If everybody had simply posted comments stating 'I love sports games', I'm pretty sure you'd have something to say about that too.

However, I agree with you on your second point -- this is whoring of the highest order. I don't even care any more.
